I live in the land of sun (California) where most women believe the tanner the better. Don't get me wrong I LOVE a good spray tan but laying out in the sun Most of my clients come to me for corrective treatments such as microdermabrasion and chemical peels but these treatments are not cheap. Today I am going to show you how you can make your own at home corrective mask using Vitamin C powder. You are probably thinking...COOL but You can get it at your local bulk health food store. I get mine at Sprouts. Or you can buy it in bulk here. Vitamin C will help keep your skin smooth and looking. It can also help caused by the sun. How to make your own vitamin C mask: Mix 1 tablespoon of vitamin C with 1/2 tablespoon filtered water. If your skin is dry you can substitute water for 100 % pure aloe vera gel. Apply to face and leave on for about 10-15 min. Avoid directly under the eyes. Remove with a soft warm wash cloth. I have been obsessed with skin care ever since I was in high-school, always buying the latest and greatest creams, serums, masks, and lotions. I’m not exactly sure where my love affair for skin care came from, but I do know that I absolutely enjoyed giving myself a miniature spa treatment every night before bed. Honey & Vitamin C Face Mask If you want an at-home spa experience for cheap, the best way to start is with a luxurious face mask. This mask is amazing for your skin due to the humectant quality of the honey, and the vitamin C will help even and tone your skin. I use one of these masks at least once a week and my skin feels like I just came back from an expensive spa day. You can add a small amount of brown sugar to this recipe to make it into a scrub, but the honey and vitamin C on its own will do wonders for your skin. It can also help heal acne because of the antibacterial qualities of the honey, while the vitamins C helps balance your skin’s pH. Adding a touch of lavender essential oil – (totally optional) – can also help reduce inflammation. 1 teaspoon Raw Organic Honey. 1/2 teaspoon Vitamin C Powder from a natural source, or juice from a lemon. Optional Add-ins: 2-3 drops of Lavender essential oil, and/or brown sugar to make a scrub. Mix all ingredients together.




I usually just do it right in the palm of my hand to make it easier. Massage onto face ensuring all areas are covered. While you don’t want to get this in your eyes, it’s totally safe for underneath them. Leave mask on for 5 minutes to 1 hour. Rinse off in a warm shower or with a wash cloth. Use as needed for smooth, supple skin. Tips: If you mix this with vitamin C powder instead of lemon juice, you can make a batch ahead of time and store it for several months. Before I use this mask, I do an oil facial cleanse to remove any makeup or dirt. This mask is great for all skin types, but especially for dry skin as it will leave it moisturized and very soft! Leave the mask on for 15-to-25 minutes, then rinse off with warm water. Ingesting Vitamin C is the best route for optimal nail health, so be sure to take a supplement or eat citrus fruits often. Vitamin C maintains healthy skin by creating and promoting the expansion of collagen (yet again!), as well as the creation of ligaments and scar tissue, Loving says. By slowing the rate of free radicals, it also appears to slow the aging process by keeping wrinkles, dryness and fine lines at bay. Zied says that a 2007 study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that vitamin C intake from food sources was linked with a less wrinkled appearance and less age-related skin dryness in middle-aged women. For a vitamin C-rich face mask, blend one kiwi and a half cup of papaya and apply the mixture to your face.
