Tempurpedic has been one of the largest players in the mattress industry for over two decades, and is continuing to make strides to improve their mattress line. As a luxury mattress brand known across the globe, it’s time for Sleepopolis to put them to the test. This week, we’ll be taking a look at what I believe to be Tempurpedic’s flagship model, the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze. Will this mattress meet the extremely high expectations set by both Tempurpedic and consumers? Continue reading below to find out! In a bit of a hurry and need to go straight to the summary? We’ve got you covered. Click here to go straight to the review summary. The Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze mattress is an 11.5″ mattress built from 4 separate layers of foam. The cover of the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze is quite nice.

Made from a blend of polyester (94%) and spandex (6%) the cover is stretchy, soft, and breathable. I was able to tug and pull on the cover form virtually every angle and it did not hesitate to pop right back into shape. Additionally, the cover has a slightly thinner build. The combination of a thin cover of polyester / spandex makes for a breathable cover all the way around. The top portion of the cover uses an all white color scheme with a diamond pattern. The sides have a smooth transition from white to a thin blue strip and bold grey lining. The cover is fairly standard among mattress cover designs, but still has a modern and sharp look to it. The Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze mattress comes in at a 5 out of 10 on the firmness scale, where 10 is the most firm. Tempurpedic’s full line of mattresses spans the firmness scale all the way from as soft as 3 up to as firm as a 9. Regarding the level of sinkage on the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze, I found that the mattress gradually increased in depth.

Right when I lied down on the mattress, I noticed about 1.5-2″ of sinkage. After 15-20 seconds, it felt closer to about 3″ of sinkage (on my back). For some sleepers, this may be a positive. For others, this level of sinkage may result in a stuck or trapped feeling. This mattress has a very traditional and classic memory foam type of a feel (deeper sinkage, pronounced contour, slower response). You’ll want to be sure you’re comfortable with memory foam. FAQ:  What mattress firmness do I need? The Tempurpedic does a nice job of balancing the sinkage. Not just the heavier parts of my body sank in. The lighter areas (arms, legs, etc.) were also receiving a slight degree of sinkage, which helped to avoid awkward angles along the spine, while also increasing overall pressure relief. While sleeping on my stomach I found the contour, hug, and softness to be a bit too much, as it created less than ideal support in this position. However, it was much better on my side and back.

Memory foam really excels for side sleepers due to the type of contoured support it’s capable of creating. When I first lied down on the mattress there is a cool to the touch feel. I believe this is due to special materials within the cover itself, however, Tempurpedic is highly secretive about the actual materials and features of their mattress. In any case, the mattress does have a cool feeling initially. After lying for a few minutes the cover and mattress are no longer cool to the touch, but they aren’t overly warm either. As far as memory foam mattresses go the cooling on the Cloud Supreme Breeze did a good job. The combination of the cover itself and other air flow / anti-heat retention qualities help maintain a cooler surface. If you’re a heavier sleeper or very warm sleeper you may find it’s still not cool enough by sheer virtue of the depth of sinkage. Even the most cool foams still aren’t as cool as traditional coil mattresses (if this sounds like you you may consider a hybrid mattress).

All that said, during my sleep test I was not uncomfortably warm at any point. GUIDE:  Help choosing a mattress As expected, both bounce and motion transfer were virtually zero. If you’re sleeping with a partner the lack of motion transfer is great, as you’ll rarely disturb each other. However, the lack of bounce, slower response, and depth of sinkage make amorous activities more difficult. All things considered the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze is a solid performer with good material quality. I do however wish there was greater transparency with respect to the materials used and other notable features. All mattress reviews on Sleepopolis go through a short series of sinkage tests. These tests are deigned to provide you with insight on how the mattress will perform under various conditions. Keep in mind, sinkage results may vary based on body weight and body type. As a reference point, I weigh 140 pounds and have a fairly uniform body type from top to bottom.

Other retailers may have different policies for each of these. I highly recommend double and triple checking the terms of the trial (if it exists), refund policy, and warranty. Many traditional retailers utilize a “comfort guarantee”, which is not the same as a true trial period most of the time. The Cloud Supreme Breeze is one of the most expensive mattresses I’ve tested on Sleepopolis. At $3,200 for a Queen size mattress I have pretty high expectations. In just looking at the material quality and performance I don’t have anything bad to say. By any reasonable definition the Tempurpedic mattress is exceptionally well built and a strong performer for those who enjoy the feel of classic high density memory foam. That said, it’s a tough one for me to recommend due to the price and trial period. The trial period at Wayfair and many other retailers leaves much to be desired. is a bit better at 90 days, but still suffers as you’re still responsible for paying $175 to ship the mattress back.

For a mattress that’s $3.2K that feels unreasonable to me. In terms of overall value I just expect more. There are no shortage of very well designed and solid memory foam mattresses on the market, many of these in the $1,000’ish range for a Queen size. Paying more than 3 times that for a performance level that is similar, but getting a lack luster trial period / refund policy, just doesn’t make sense to me. In any case, from an overall performance perspective, Tempurpedic is still a very good mattress and for the right sleeper can be a good choice. I would recommend the Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze mattress to sleepers who: The Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme Breeze is a classic high density memory foam mattress. It has a medium soft feel at a 5 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. The contour and hug is pronounced and deep. As far as memory foam goes, it's on the cooler side. At $3,200 for a Queen it's the most expensive mattress I've tested. If money is no object and you absolutely love memory foam this can be a good choice.
