Items accepted daily 8am-4pm (at no fee) include: auto batteries, household batteries, latex paint, antifreeze, used motor oil & filters. Please note that Treated Wood Waste is not currently accepted at the Devlin Road Transfer Station. Treated wood waste is regulated as a hazardous waste by the State of California – more info is on the DTSC Treated Wood Waste page. Treated wood waste may be taken to the Hay Road Landfill in Vacaville or the Altamont Landfill in Livermore. Items accepted include: insecticides, paints, thinner, solvents, cleaners, syringes, outdated medicines, BBQ propane tanks, cooking oil, old gasoline, batteries, automotive fluids & fluorescent bulbs. No radioactive materials, explosives, ammunition or PCBs. You can transport only 15 gallons or 125 pounds maximum per trip. Please note that the Napa Recycling & Composting Facility is just down the street at 820 Levitin Way. Trash from the Cities of Vallejo, Napa and American Canyon and southern unincorporated Napa County is brought to the Devlin Road Recycling & Transfer Facility, where it is loaded into trucks and sent to Potrero Hills Landfill in Suisun (Solano County).
When NROWS took over DRRTF operation in 2007, a mixed construction & demolition (C&D) processing area was added in the outdoor area of the facility. DRRTF staff now sort mixed loads of C&D and self haul materials in order to capture more recyclable material, such as wood, carpet, plastics, and metal. NROWS also recycles mattresses and box springs. In addition, 5-10 tons a month of reusable items are pulled aside and sent to St. Vincent de Paul in Eugene, Oregon. Carpet is sorted and shipped for processing into new carpet, carpet padding, plastic lumber, car parts and additional recycled plastic items. Carpet pad is recycled into new carpet padding. Recycling documentation and diversion data is available for all projects (including LEED certification).
