They have some scratches in the wood from an adventurous 6 year old but you can refinish it to suit any decor. Includes 1 mdf board to go beneath the mattress for 1 bunk, also includes 2 twin mattresses. The mattresses were purchased about 1 - 1.5 yrs ago for $100 each plus hst and are in great shape too. Only been slept on by my 6 and 10 year olds.
