Project HELP allows grants to income eligible residents to prevent eviction, foreclosure or utility termination by bringing rent payments, mortgage payments or delinquent utility bills current. Grass Cutting and Snow Removal Program The City of Parma offers supplemental grass cutting and snow removal services for senior citizens and/or disabled persons. Grass cutting applications currently available beginning April 1, 2017. Snow removal applications available September 1, 2017. An $80 voucher for Senior Citizens aged 65 and over (all occupants of the house must be 65 and over) who own their home to help defray the costs of a furnace inspection prior to the heating season. The voucher must be used for a "furnace clean and check" from a licensed and registered HVAC contractor of your choice. Senior Safe at Home Program Offers at least one emergency personal pendant necklace and one live voice emergency monitoring station at a reduced rate, or at no cost, for eligible senior citizens and the disabled.
Eligible participants must be age 65 or over, live alone and be medically disabled and earn less than $36,300 per year. Cuyahoga County Board of Health's Lead Safe Cuyahoga Grant Lead is a poison. When it gets into a child’s body it can harm the child’s brain and cause learning and behavior problems. Many homes built before 1978 may have paint that contains lead. The Cuyahoga County Board of Health, in conjunction with the City of Parma Community Development Block Grant, can help provide FREE home repairs that limit a child’s exposure to lead. If you are an owner, landlord, or renter in Parma with a child 5 years of age or younger, and qualify by income, you could receive up to $8,000 or more in assistance with replacing windows, doors, repairing porches and repairing the home’s exterior to be lead free.
