Earn Loyalty Cash: Rs.18 Sunbaby Magic Bear Chair - Yellow This season's most popular productsHad been for the first time, started off with some tangy chats to tingle the toungue...then the spread of side dishes was aswsome..ended with some sliny vanilla ice cream....uncomfotable sofa..whihch pushes you off quite ear;y.reasonably good food and value for money 300 bucks per head... The ambience is pretty good here with posters from old Hindi movies posted on the walls. But, the food wasn't anything to write home about. Standard choice on the menu, but the taste was very ordinary. The food did not merit the quality of food that we were served. I wouldn't go back unless they reduced the prices or improved the taste. An unplanned and an ad-hoc decision landed my friend and me at The Legacy of Punjab. When we were short listing where to go, a colleague of mine whispered, shed been to the same place last night. This sent some signals and made me realize Ive never visited this place and I always wanted to!
Now, I and my friend debated if we should go to Kudla or The Legacy of Punjab. Ive heard from many of my friends both are good. To prove it, I checked the same on burrp! I was surprised to see no reviews of both the restaurants. In a jiffy, I pounced upon my friend to say, we are heading to The Legacy of Punjab.Immediately, booked the table and landed there for lunch by 1PM.The weird weather of Bangalore, playing its games, pricked our skin with its heat unlike the pleasant mornings / evenings. After the security check, we parked our bike in the deep depth of the basement. The Kudla has a boat and a net on it with artificial crab and lobsters on it. On the other side, a wooden stairs leads you to The Legacy of Punjab. The guy in the Punjabi Pathan dress welcomes you with the pleasing smile. I moment I entered, I was there for a pleasant surprise. I felt as though I entered a different world all together. As though, Im in old house in a village of Punjab. The rustic look on the walls, the unmade, with no concrete, just the brick wall with old movie posters, a big wheel placed on one side, huge strand of flowers, silk thread rolls, cane basket hanging from the roof.
Space made in the walls to accommodate artifacts made by metal and mud just created a different ambience and set us to have an experience here!The music played in the background was all from the 80s and my friend went into nostalgia!!The seating arrangement is different too. Theyve made sure the privacy is maintained if the people go in a group and want to have their own gala time. Sleek and long wooden table with netted chairs and concrete bench with colorful cushions made the seating very comfortable.The lunch buffet started with the unlimited chaats. We could select from pani puri, dahi puri, papdi chaat, sev puri and others. We tried 3 and I loved them all. The curd used was thick and I asked him to add more of it for my chaat. They had 2 kinds of soup - Dal Shorba and the rasam type. I tried Dal Shorba and it was ok. The salads were around 6 types including the plain cucumber and onion (they call this dhaba salad), spicy fruit salad, kimchi, sprouts and ceasers salad.The starters were Gobi 65 and Chicken Kabab good but not all that great.
The phulkas, kulcha, roti and naan were soft, the gravies were really good. I personally loved the Butter panner. There were around 6 kinda gravies (both veg and non-veg included). The veg pulav was good, the dal was excellent with the plain rice.About desserts, I wasnt very happy with the choices. The pista burfi was ok, the gulab jamoon was extremely good I was full and could not eat more than two though I very badly wanted to. the choices of ice-cream was limited too. They had vanilla and strawberry only. A special mention about the ice gola has to be made here. After a very long time, I got to taste this. There were different flavors like orange, grape and black current availableA buffet lunch for two would cost around Rs.550/-A nice place to dine out with friends and colleagues. I want to this place for the third time and am forced to write a negative review.The first 2 times i went there, it was fantastic. Unlimited Chass, Gola completed the menu... It seems that that hotel's management has changed.
Only the ambiance remains same and the quality of food has come down drastically. Dal tadka/Dalmakhani/couldnt figure out what it was, was prepared horribly. Smelled of rotten coconut. There's one type of Roti which is either pretty dry or too oily. The panneer sabzi was inedible and so were the desserts.. Kheer didnt taste anything like kheer...In the end , they gave a 5 bucks cup ice cream.. Can u believe it???A total NO NO for this place... Bring back the old Management .... I went to this place with my friends...i went to this place after hearing a lot abt this place from my friends...the place give a dhaba look but is not that well maintained and the ambience doesnt reflect as such...the food was ok-not great...the service was also ok and the seating was also not that comfortable...the dinner for 7 of us costed us 1500 bugs...the starters and lassi was good and the maincourse was They did not give us the citi card discount even after asking for it. Citi bank website has mentioned about the discount.
