You don't have to match with the same style, but the finishes should be the same. Knobs and pulls don't need to align with one another, but can be randomly placed. Don't forget to coordinate your knob and pull finishes with your hinges if they're exposed.
Pulls don't have to be just 3 or 4 inches long, but a single bar can be extended across the entire drawer or door. Knobs And Pulls 101To order on-line from the store, you will need to determine several things. The First is, "what 'style' are you looking for? We offer a variety of different categories of hardware. The categories shown on our site fall into contemporary, traditional, children's and home accessories. The Second item you will need to determine is whether you are looking for knobs (installed with a single screw) or pulls (installed with 2 screws) or both. Most kitchens and baths have a combination of drawers and doors. Generally, on drawers under 24" wide you will only need a single knob or pull. Drawers over 24" should have either 2 knobs, 2 small pulls or 1 larger pull. Third, it is important that you double check (even triple check) your knob and pull count. There is nothing more irritating than coming up 1 piece short! Fourth, if you have pulls that you are replacing you will need to measure from the center to center of each screw hole in order to determine what size will best suit your drawer or door without requiring re-drilling or patching an existing hole.
You will see on all our pull listing of dimensions that we also specify the "center to center" length. The most common imperial sizes are 3", 3-1/2" and 4", while 96mm, 128mm and 160mm are the most common metric dimensions. Fifth, if you have drawers or doors with recessed panels within you will need to determine the width of the rail and recess. The knob or pull should not fill the rail or recess as it will not look right proportionally. Allow some clearance around the hardware. Sixth, you need to tell us which knobs/pulls are for drawers and which are for doors. Drawers typically are made with a box and a wood face is applied. The dimension for this is typically a total of 1-1/2" for a slab face and less for a recessed panel. A door is typically 3/4" thick. Please measure both and let us know when you order what your requirements are, so that we can ship you the right size screws. It generally takes 2 business days to fill each order if items are in stock. If items are back-ordered, it means we've sold out our stock, but have ordered more. Back-ordered items generally take 10-14 business days. We will notify you of items that are back-ordered. All orders will be shipped as complete. If request are made to split ship, additional shipping feels may apply. If you wish to cancel a back-ordered item, it will be your responsibility to notify us of your decision.Standard shipping is UPS Ground.
We also offer 3 Day Select, 2nd Day Air, and Overnight. Hawaii & Alaska are eligible for standard shipping only. Expedited shipping does not speed up processing/ordering time, but it will get you your hardware faster once our stock arrives at our showroom. If you receive a notification that your items are back-ordered and you would like to switch your shipping method to standard Ground, please notify us immediately. All orders requested shipped to an address different from the cardholder's address will be subject to confirmation by Bauerware and may be delayed. Bauerware will charge your credit card at the time of your order. Bauerware will insure if damage occurs during shipping, customers should notify the shipper, either UPS or USPS, as all items shipped for their replacement value prior to shipment. ReturnsBauerware accepts returns but requires written notification within 7 days of receipt of the merchandise by you.
