Are there any long distance buses which depart from or near Dhaka airport possibly Uttara? I was toying with the idea of going to Natore or is the the train a better option. Yes there are a few. It starts from Abdullahpur Bus Stop(just b4 the Tangi Bridge and if u go from uttara it will be in your left hand side) there are some bus that goes Natore. BUT, I don't recommend going from Uttara to Nator as the bus will stop time to time to pickup people. U can catch a bus of Gabtoli from Uttara and catch a direct bus of Nator from Gabtoli.After entering BD please take a Tuktuk/Taxi to Gabtoli bus stands (fare : Tuktuk Taka 400, taxi Taka 1000) and find out Natore bus counter (Ask People and they will help you). You will have several bus options from here as Gabtoli is the main hub to North Bengal. You might want to take a train to Rajshahi & then take other modes of transport to Natore.
Dont know if the train uses the Dhaka airport train station -There are some good AC buses which go the Rajshahi using the new bridge, but need to see where the bus counters are in Dhaka. You might want to then catch local transport going to Natore - There used to be a plane that went to Rajshahi, but maybe the logstics from the airport to Natore might not be easy and complex. -Previously one would have to go to Gabtoli, then catch a bus from there. This takes a ferry in between (dont know if that is still the case). It's best to take a bus to Natore from Gabtoli Bus Station (or Kallyampur, which is next to Gabtoli, and where better bus companies operate from). Good options are Greenline, Shaymoli. Any buses that head to Rajshahi will normally pass through Natore along the way. The Biman Bandar train station just outside the Airport is a convenient station to take. Any train that leaves Dhaka (Dhaka Station) must passes through Biman Bandar to get out of the city.
Again, any train the leaves for Rajshahi will stop at Natore.
