This is one of the lowest prices this set has been at. Keep in mind that the Cargo Train was released in 2014 so it could be on the brink of retirement soon to make way for newer sets as it reaches it’s third year of shelf life. Last year, we posted five Christmas projects to build, and we’re back with new ones for the Christmas season! Honestly, I’m not a big fan of Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving, and we don’t start celebrating until the day after Thanksgiving here. The Trains subtheme (it was rolled under City when the switch from 9V took place) is now extremely limited, often to 3 sets every 4 years (passenger train, freight train and station) with occasional level crossings or track packs interspersed - the year after normally has a freight train, except with a more limited release.

The last batch of trains were in 2014, so the next 'range' isn't due until 2018.As for other things you've mentioned, turntables and viaducts have never been officially released (for any train type), and signals are a rarity. Inclines were only released during grey/blue era, but were suggested in ideas books.Lego do some train parts under Bricks & Pieces, and Bricklink & Ebay sellers have many parts, part and complete sets and custom models for sale. @MattDawson Thanks for the info! I do recall inclines for the old blue tracks, so it's weird that they stopped doing them. With regards to the rest, I'll just have to try and grab a station via eBay, Bricklink or Amazon I suppose. And maybe look for a MOC buffer instructions somewhere.I'll be attempting to install the battery pack and motor from the High Speed Train into the Winter Train tomorrow night so my son will wake up to his train magically traveling around the Christmas tree on Sunday morning. Good job the Winter Train has installation instructions in the back of the manual.

Also, the newest trains have been on sale recent for good prices, so I would caution on not paying RRP for them. , and others have had the #60052 for as low as around 100 USD and the High speed passenger train for around 90 USD. You may have to wait to see deals that good again (likely by next fall) but I would definitely not buy them at RRP. @madforLEGO Fear not, I didn't pay RRP for any of them, which is why I ended up buying them. Seemed like a bargain, by Lego standards anyway. You should be able to find the #60050 Train Station without too much hunting.  There were also a few great train based sets (the engine shed and cargo crane come too mind) in the World City range. Aftermarket prices on train based stuff can be ludicrous but most sets can be brick linked (with minor subs as necessary) for a fraction of the cost of buying the sets. There are a couple of cross track designs on YouTube. We built this one and it worked well.http://deafpilotboytv.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/build-lego-train-x-cross-track.htmlYou can also buy instructions on ebay for some MOC buildings.

The Switch Tower cost us about £80 using a mix of new and used bricks. It's a nice building as a standalone model and currently sits on a shelf next to our other modular buildings.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-Train-Switch-Tower-CUSTOM-Model-PDF-Instructions-Manual-/262390475359 The same seller also has a modern railway station.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-MOC-Town-City-Train-Station-CUSTOM-Model-PDF-Instructions-Manual-/262415082502The roof of the station is still my favourite thing that I've built since getting back in to Lego. It cost around £100-150 to source the bricks for the set. We were fortunate to find the 1x2x2 trans clear panels on the PAB wall as that saved us quite a bit. ///sch/jrguettler/m.html?item=252654289721&hash=item3ad35e8339:g:2LIAAOxyOlhSsFGn&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562The #7996 cross-over is the creme-da-la creme of Lego track//store/home.page?p=AggieSava&itemID=16882527#/shop?o={"itemType":"I","catID":"124"} Bottom line is that Lego has pretty much have abandon the hobby side of model railroading and some enthusiasts and entrepreneurs
