Official LEGO Comments 1 If my home were to catch fire and all I could save were a single possession, it would have to be my LEGO Ultimate Collector's Series R2-D2. It represents one half of my favourite duo from the film STAR WARS, modelled using my best-loved childhood toy - it is also testament to just how thoughtful my wife is since it was she who bought the model for me one Christmas. On completing the model - which now takes pride of place in my office - I have been waiting for the day when I could complete the partnership by purchasing a scaled version of R2's sidekick, C-3PO.

As a result of my frustration at the growing number of failed internet searches and spurred on by the documentary The Secret World of LEGO, which interviewed the designer of the LEGO Birds set, I decided to take on the challenge of creating the model myself. The finished result has taken somewhere in the region of 10 months to develop. The model comprises of over two-dozen sub-assemblies, is constructed from just under 3,000 bricks, stands 59.5cm / 23.5" tall, and weighs in at a little over 2Kg / 4.5lb. The waist, arms, and head articulate and are sufficiently stiff that the model can maintain various poses such as those in the accompanying images. I have also played around with different configurations of silver lower leg and red arm as featured in some of the later films. Another point to note is that not all of the bricks used are available in a suitable colour and remain black as per my original prototype. My goal was to simply create a model for myself. However, I am sufficiently satisfied with my efforts such that I would like to share my work with the wider LEGO community.

Who knows, if I'm lucky enough to win your support in the numbers needed to reach the review board then maybe, just maybe, I can get the model produced in the correct colour bricks. Thanks in advance of your support, Julian. How to build these characters with pieces you already have. Great LEGO club challenge!C3PO, Indiana Jones, Clone Wars Trooper Life-Size Lego Models Are Awesomely Huge2/17/08 11:25am We just spotted these great, life-sized Lego models of Indiana Jones, C3PO and a Clone Wars Trooper at the annual Toy Fair. We asked how many Lego bricks it took to construct each one, but were told that it was "a big secret." We couldn't care less, they look amazing, and we desperately need some new office furnishings to brighten up the place. Unfortunately, these are just show pieces, and those hoping for a gigantic Indiana Jones Lego pack will have to make do with these (movie spoiler) kits instead. Clone Wars fans get some smaller Lego-loving, too, but we want them so bad, we're going to try and smuggle the life-size models out.

In an interview with Game Informer, the developer revealed what we can expect. As Mike Taylor, Head of Design at TT Fusion, explained, “There’s lots of exclusive stuff there, and we’ve drawn from the content in some of the other additional materials that Lucasfilm have been involved in.” This means that some of the missions will be based on books or comics, which Game Director Jamie Eden says they package in a way younger audiences can get to see.In total, LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens will have six missions they describe as bridge content. Completely optional, they each open up after completing two or so story missions based on The Force Awakens, and require a certain amount of gold bricks to fully unlock.

Unlike the Deadpool missions in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes, these missions are full-fledged.[THE FORCE AWAKENS SPOILERS AHEAD]As for what you’ll see in those missions, one will explain how C-3PO got his new red arm, while another will show how the Rathtars were captured and brought to Han Solo’s ship, the Eravana. Taylor also teased that they are in the process of covering “some pretty significant events that happen before the film that give people more information about why certain things in The Force Awakens happened and why certain characters have ended up where they are.”Eden talked about getting the chance to tell these stories:I can remember the first day on the project and we said that we’d be doing those sort of levels and content, and I couldn’t believe that we were going to get to make our own content that was going to be part of the Star Wars universe. We tell the story through the sort of LEGO viewpoint as well, so the crux of the story is what happens is true to the IP, obviously we put gags in with characters holding sausages or riding around on pigs, et cetera.
