With the score tied and the clock dwindling, Bradley executed a patient setup after a Valpo timeout. Point guard Jordan Hale curled off a screen, drawing help, and kicked to a wide-open Malik Brooks on the wing. Brooks rose for a contested 3 as the buzzer sounded, and the ball found the net just as the final horn blared, sending the home crowd into a roar.
The final sequence capped a tense back-and-forth affair that featured multiple lead changes and several momentum swings. Brooks finished with a team-high 22 points, while Hall added 16 and nine rebounds, anchoring a Braves performance that blended disciplined defense with timely offense.
'This is the kind of win you remember for a long time,' said Bradley head coach Brian Wardle. 'Credit to our guys for staying composed. We executed when it mattered, and Malik knocked it down in a huge moment.'
Valparaiso’s defense had sparked a late run of its own, but Bradley’s resilience proved decisive. The Braves shot 46 percent from the field and connected on five of 12 attempts from beyond the arc in a game that demanded every possession.
Bradley improves to 14-9 on the season and 6-4 in Missouri Valley Conference play, while Valpo drops to 13-9 overall and 5-5 in the league. The win tightens the race atop the standings and gives Bradley momentum heading into a two-game road swing starting with a Saturday matchup against Northern Iowa.
