Book retailer, Dymocks, has opened its first new store in Victoria for four years at the Chadstone Shopping Centre in Melbourne earlier this week. The store features a wave ceiling designed to look like an open book and interactive digital display screens that are updated to promote new releases, in-store events and offers. It is the fifth store for franchise owners Michelle Lee and John Brock and represents the 17th Dymocks location across Victoria. “The store looks fantastic and will become a destination zone for Chadstone booklovers,” said Lee. “It’s designed as a vibrant, welcoming space for customers to mingle and browse the shelves. Dymocks is constantly evolving its store design to keep pace with today’s customer. “We’re excited to expand our retail presence in Melbourne and look forward to offering the service, range and value that the well-read team of Dymocks prides itself on delivering.” Lee said strong inital sales and positive customer feedback “reflects a strong resurgence back to the physical book, with sales of e-books and e-readers in steady decline.”

“Book sales continue to rise with Dymocks reporting strong sales growth over the last two years. These buoyant sales reflect Australians continued love of reading.” “We pride ourselves on setting the standard in bookselling and our progressive retail approach has ensured our business success to this day.” Access exclusive analysis, locked news and reports with Inside Retail Weekly. Subscribe today and get our premium print publication delivered to your door every week.
