Ovation Of The Seas stamped Made For China WITH a panda for a mascot, a poolside noodle cafe and more square feet of luxury shopping than any other Royal Caribbean International ship, Ovation Of The Seas is stamped Made For China. There are delicate China-inspired onboard artworks and the interior decor of the Royal Esplanade has been chosen to please Chinese tastes.Intriguingly it's lighter than on last year's Anthem Of The Seas and, of course, there is Chinese signage alongside English. The increased retail therapy opportunities include Swarovski, Bling and other upmarket jewellery, clothes, accessories and make-up shops - all popular with wealthy Chinese. But apart from that there are few differences to the cruise line's third Quantum class ship from last year's Anthem Of The Seas and the original Quantum Of The Seas..Skydiving, bumper cars and circus training, the North Star observation capsule, surfing and the robotic bartenders of the Bionic Bar are all in place for the ship's first three cruises from Southampton this month before it sets off for China.PHGETTYOnly then will the menus in some of the 19 restaurants take on a more oriental flavour, but not so much to disappoint the Chinese holidaymaker's love for all things Western. And after a summer season at its Chinese homeport Tianjin

, making short four-day cruises and up to seven-day trips around China and over to Japan and South Korea, Ovation will head for Australia to escape winter and enjoy a southern hemisphere summer.PHIt is Down Under that the ship's two-deck Music Hall is likely to be packed as tribute bands and 1980s cover acts take to the stage. But the Royal Theatre shows are less likely to be West End style and more likely to be colourful song and dance reviews, to avoid culture clashes for the Chinese.PHAnd the Casino Royale has been extended for its Chinese clientele, with multi-lingual staff recruited and trained in China - as are most of the staff onboard. The Chinese differences in Quantum are fairly subtle, but with Harmony Of The Seas launching next month and more Royal Caribbean ships on order it's unlikely we will see this ship back in Southampton once it sets off on its 56-night Global Odyssey in early May.Skip to main content We apologize, but we cannot find the page you're looking for. Please start your search from Expedia's homepage.

MS Ovation of the Seas is a cruise ship operating for Royal Caribbean International (RCI). The vessel is the third ship in the Quantum class, which surpasses RCI's earlier Freedom-class ships by over 14,000 GT, becoming the second largest class of passenger ships behind RCI's Oasis class ships on a gross tonnage basis. On February 11, 2011, RCI announced that it had ordered a new class of ships from the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the first of which was scheduled to be delivered by fall 2014. At the time, the project was code-named "Project Sunshine".[6] On February 29, 2012, the company announced that a second "Project Sunshine" ship had been ordered and would be delivered by Spring 2015.[7] Just under a year later, on January 31, 2013, RCI announced that the official name of the new class of ships was the Quantum class. Ovation of the Seas, the third vessel in the Quantum class, was laid down by Meyer Werft on March 5, 2015. Before the first piece of keel was lowered into place, Adam Goldstein, President and COO of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the holding company of RCI, placed a lucky coin in the dock.

The keel will eventually be formed of 74 blocks.[9] The first section was launched on 20 June 2015. Ovation of the Seas was delivered on April 8, 2016.[10] Ovation of the Seas entered service on 14 April 2016. "Ovation of the Seas" arrived from Hamburg to the Port of Southampton, UK on April 10, 2016, to begin a series of inaugural events, including press previews and a limited number of "Shake-down" and mini cruises for VIP's, specially invited guests and members of the public. The ship berths at the City Cruise Terminal in the Western Docks, where its fleetmates also dock when visiting the city. Ovation of the Seas at Sydney Following her entry into service, Ovation of the Seas departed on an inaugural 52-night Global Odyssey cruise from the Port of Southampton in the UK on May 3, 2016. The ship's ultimate destination on that cruise was Tianjin in China, where she homeported and operated a series of cruises to destinations in Asia. During the summer of 2016–17, the vessel will homeport in Sydney, Australia.

^ a b c d e f g h i ^ a b c d Looking at booking a cruise for next December to New Zealand. I don't seem to be able to find anything for the ovation of the seas. Can anyone tell me .am I to early.and if so when would they advertise the cruises for dec 2017 RCI haven't released their 2017/18 itineraries yet. From what I have heard it is usually in about April or May so something should be out soon. I'll keep my eyes pealed .au/showthread.php?t=2330636) asking when RCI will release their cruise itineraries. They will keep you in the loop. Edited: 20 March 2016, 02:26 Good on ya Love- the life Secondly, beyond RCI not releasing those sailongs yet - Ovation of the Seas hasn't even put out to sea yet itself. So, no reviews or anything at all is available as it's not sailing yet...you can check out Anthem and Quantum reviews and info, it will be very similar as they are the same class ship... I now it's still being built, but there's nothing like planing ahead.

Just hoping to get a bargain for 2017.a few of my friends picked up some bargains for this year but l couldn't get my act together and prices have gone up. The trouble with organising a group of people On the CC board, a date of 4 April has been mentioned by a poster who usually has good information. Was just on the maiden voyage to Rotterdam from Southampton, itinerary for this ship is already out and was being sold on board. You will not be disappointed, this ship is up to the normal RCI standard We were on Ovation of the Seas from Dubai to Singapore ( 26 May to 9th June 2016). She is indeed incredible. Some passengers were on it from South Hampton England all the way to Singapore. Our portion had 4000 plus passengers from 59 different nationalities. USA, Germany, Australia and Canada were the majority. The interiors are gorgeous, plush and comfortable. The cleanliness is amazing. The crew cleans the ship 24 hours. The design inside and out is very neat and tidy.

The multi storey high 270 lounge at the back of the ship on deck 5 was my favourite place. In the evenings the glass windows becomes a screen for projection of images for the evening and night shows. The special effects and robotics are spectacular.( and so is the show spectra ). During the day it is a place to relax with great views of the sea through the multi-storey high glass windows. The library which is on its mezzanine floor has a good collection of books. You could enjoy reading as many books as you can for hours. The 270 cafe has a delicious selection of pies, sandwiches, salad, soups and desserts. The indoor solarium on deck 14 at the front of the ship is a big glassed area with beautiful views of the sea. The solarium cafe serves delicious meals as well. They have a variety of activities and entertainment from early morning until late at night. Classes at the gym began at 7am and there was mass at 8pm every sea day. Our cruise director Gordon was hilarous and Belle was lovely.

They were the life of the cruise. There were chats with Gordon at 10am where passengers gathered with him for questions, suggestions and complaints. There were many hits and some misses but overall thumbs up. By the way she is open for sailing bookings from now until 2018. We're booked on the ovation on the 23 January. How was the food, from what I understand they don't have the usual main dining room ,they have multiple. Do you have to book where you eat or do you just roll up? Also activities such as the North Star, dodgems do the have to be booked. Caribbean cruise with a toddler: Trip Report with photos!
