The campus life at SRM University

The campus life at SRM University nurtures a rich tradition of creativity, culture, drama and arts. Several college clubs are active on the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) campus, initiated by enthusiastic students with a passion for the arts, culture or hobbies - and keep students occupied after academic hours.

Robotics Club

The active Robotics Club motivates students from various disciplines in robotics. The club distributes low cost kits, conducts workshops and also organizes competitions. There are annual workshops, under guidance from experts, are organized regularly to encourage more students to join the club. Competitions are held after the workshop and prizes are awarded to encourage students.

SRM SAE Second Largest Club in Southern Zone

SAE or Society of Automotive Engineers is a globally active professional association and standards organization for engineering professionals in various industries. Student clubs of SAE from various universities make sure that they establish a link between the industry and the students.

The SRM Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as SRM University) SAE Collegiate Club is one of the most active student clubs around the campus and happens to be the second largest SAE club in the Southern zone. The club includes students from various departments of engineering such as Electrical and Nuclear, Automobile and Aerospace Departments.

The club organizes events every semester to provide a platform to budding engineers to showcase their skills and implement what they learn in their textbooks. Also organizes various workshops and seminars every semester to increase awareness among students about the latest trends in the field of automobile, aerospace and advanced mobility.

Members of this club also get the privilege to become a member of the esteemed worldwide organization at a very nominal cost and also get access to the SAE research papers along with the membership. The students also get latest insights from the industry in the form of a SAE newsletter every month.

Some of the popular organized events are the 'Auto Freaks' and 'Junkyard Wars' that saw an overwhelming participation. Another such interesting event that SAE has organized is called the 'Robosoccer,' that was to showcase prototypes of robots that have the capacity to score a goal.

SAE presently supports two major teams from the campus, Camber Racing - winners of the Supra SAE 2012 and The Conrods -Winners of the BAHA India 2012.

The Entrepreneurship Club

The Entrepreneurship Club provides a stage for all budding entrepreneurs of the college. It regularly hosts tech talks and seminars, where reputed entrepreneurs are known to frequent.

Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) is a non-profit, global membership association for IT and information systems professionals.
