Does anyone know a place in Grand Cayman that rents out beach chairs and coolers for the week. When we went to St. Maarten in April there was a guy that rented out beach chairs, coolers, ect for the week and would drop the off and pick them up at our condo.

Just wondering if there was anything like that in Grand Cayman Small folding chairs are around $27 CI for Tommy Bahama brand, less for the OEM Rio brand at Cost-U-Less. I don't recall the cooler pricing, but a soft sided insulated beach tote was around $30 CI. You can always donate them to the Humane Society thrift shop when you are done with them. I think both ideas are awesome! Never heard of empty suitcases before. -:- Message from TripAdvisor staff -:-This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. Is there anywhere on SMB to rent 2 beach chairs and maybe umbrella, besides Royal Palms? I am thinking of it already set up and you pay life guard for the day like in Florida? I know Sunshine has chairs to use but we really like the cushy chair and umb like in FL. Also, I know RP really caters to cruisers, but might we enjoy time down there people watching, on a day there is only 1 cruise ship in port? Is there any good snorkeling near RP, like we could make RP our home base for the day, wander close by to snorkel? We will not have a car, but maybe one day. Trip is next week One destination mentioned in this post RUM point does not have cushy beach chairs or umbrellas, but there are some shade from trees. You would definitely need a car for Rum Point. yes, there is good snorkeling near there.

alsonon the right clicknon best snorkeling andndiving from shore Edited: 10:28 pm, January 12, 2013 All the beach clubs where the chair rentals are cater to the cruise crowd as well as locals and stay-over tourists. Other than Royals Palms, there are chair rentals at Public Beach/Seagrape Beach, Tiki Beach and the new place that is operating out of the old Gecko Beach Bar (sorry, forgot the name). IMO, the best of the pedestrian snorkel along Seven Mile Beach would be at the Governor's Beach or Cemetery Beach Sections. However, there are no chair concessions there. One attraction mentioned in this post Ranked of 28 things to do in Seven Mile Beach Thanks for the reply. One Follow up, Testudo. I realize that Cemetary and Govenors are not anywhere within walking distance to Royal palms. But are any of the other snorkeling areas close to RP? I think we can walk to Govenors from SS, right? All of SMB is only 5 1/2 miles long. I hop into the beach almost right in the middle and walk either north or south quite often.

It really isn't that bad at all. I am not into any heavy exercise so it shouldn't be an issue. If you use any of the google maps including the one at caymanislands.ky you can get a birds eye view of how close or far places are. Many of the hotels and points of interest along SMB are right on the map! Edited: 10:26 am, January 13, 2013 Here's a link to google.maps of Seven Mile Beach. You can find exact distances and see how things are located near each other. If you are in reasonable health, I do not think the walk from Royal Palms to Governor's would be out of the question. The walk from Tiki Beach & Public Beach to Cemetery Beach would be a bit further, but still within reasonable distance. You could also try snorkeling the reef balls off the Marriott property which is much closer to RP.
