Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman: A Design Classic The Lounge Chair connects ultimate comfort with the highest quality in material and production. Inspired by the traditional English club chair for the design, Charles and Ray Eames created a lounge chair that has a heavy and extremely comfortable appearance – and the design looks accordingly rustic. Charles Eames followed the aim of connecting the ultimate comfort with the highest quality in material and production. According to Eames’ desires, the lounge chair looks like a soft, used baseball glove in which one wants to sink in – with it, the chair is a synonym for stylish comfort since more than 50 years. The design-marriage defined the Lounge Chair in a dark veneer and black leather initially, but it varied to an edition with clear leather cushions. Meanwhile the chair is available in a new interpretation out of walnut / white. This Lounge Chair and the Ottoman are available in further colours and editions, feet can be ordered chromed and the seat out of Santos rosewood.
