I have not seen the list yet but I hear there are 90 invitees... My Son IL is from a large family and I was hoping for some help from them. I have offered for them to host their own and I think I may have offended them. I live more than 1 hr 1/2 away and don't know any place I will be able to pull this off especially if I'm left to do this on my own. Any suggestions for a reasonable shower in the King of Prussia area will be appreciated.

Oh yes, my daughter assured me that she has tons of friends who can help out. One more question, is an evite ok to do? 253 posts, read 682,784 times Originally Posted by Shino306 Thanks for the advice Shino. I think most people today know that the majority of brides and mothers-to-be will be setting up a gift registry. If you know the person's name, it's not difficult to go online and find their registry. I TOTALLY agree with Mltimes when she says, "not every cousin, great aunt, administrative assistant and friend from the 2nd grade has to be invited". Still looking in K of P.... I'm certain that HER in-laws list is the same way. I have contacted her matron of honor and she is helping by looking for venues in the King of Prussia area and trying to recruit help.

Meanwhile I can certainly cut about 30 names off this list easily. I feel bad because most of the gals in the wedding party are working mom's and some one in particular has a very ill child. So, if we can't find a place to have this thing, it will be done my way or not at all. Sorry , had to vent ! 208 posts, read 502,486 times I had to pick my jaw up off the floor after reading that gifts are brought unwrapped and "displayed." It sounds showy and gauche to me. Personally, I do not care who gives or gets what and am bored to tears sitting for hours watching gifts being opened, often one repeat after another. People's lives are too busy to waste hours like that. I attend showers to deliver my gift and show the guest of honor I am happy for her. I don't necessarily believe that even they want to sit and open gifts for hours. At events hosted for me many years ago, I felt very uncomfortable doing that. I'm sure there are other things that can be done to make the shower shorter but enjoyable to all.
