It has saved the day so many times, so much so that we don't travel (locally or not locally) without it anymore.

It is pretty and the joints are tight. What makes it unique is the five arrow back uprights which are very pretty. The lift over tray is original but the original locking mechanism which secures the tray to the arm is only half there. I think the only thing that has been replaced is the pressed cane seat is new.

There is an early major repair to one arm that must have broken along the way - see photo. It was repaired with a brass fitting that is unusually large and strong. It would make a nice display piece for your dolls or teddies. The chair measures 39" to top rail, 30" to top of arm, 14" wide to outside of arms, seat is 12" in diameter, the legs are 23 1/4" high. If you see this ad, the antique high chair is still available. Please include your telephone number for speedier scheduling. One man had a unique chair worth way more than he could have imagined, and far more than the $700 he spent for it, on "Antiques Roadshow" (Mon., 8 p.m. ET on PBS). The man bought the chair along with several items for that $700 dollar price tag, and it proved to be hundreds of years old and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. What made it special was that it was a pre-plumbing toilet that was handcrafted and rather ornate. A cushion hid the hole in the center, and the appraiser said that often these types of chairs also had skirting around them to hide the bucket underneath.
