High Schools’ Mattress Fundraisers Support Athletes Whether you support the Hillies or the Wildcats, buying a new mattress on Saturday, Jan. 21 can boost your team’s bottom line. The Haverhill High School girls volleyball team and the Whittier Vo-Tech Athletic Boosters will run mattress sales from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at their respective schools. Models of available mattresses will be on display at the HHS gym and in Whittier’s lobby. Many brand-name mattresses will be on sale, and shoppers can visit their respective school’s website for a discount coupon. This is the second year that the Whittier Boosters have run the mattress sale, and the third year that the Hillie volleyball team has relied on this fundraiser.

Recharge Platinum by Beautyrest Perfect Sleeper by Serta iComfort Hybrid by Serta Laura Ashley by King KoilThe 2016-2017 academic year is a defining one for DHS. The new stadium and playing field project completes six years of construction, resulting in a beautiful 21st century complex. Our students and staff all possess Chromebooks as we expand the 1-1 initiative spearheaded last year by our middle school faculty. We continue to hire and support energetic faculty members who, in turn, pass their enthusiasm for learning on to our students. This year, we will also welcome a visiting team from the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) as we undergo our 10 year accreditation review! Danvers High School is proud to offer a range of coursework, extracurricular activities and athletic endeavors comprehensive enough to address the needs and interests of all members of our student body.

Senior class members spend the month of May at internship sites, hoping to get a glimpse of a career path or college course of study. We communicate each week through email and our website via a Friday afternoon “DHS Update”. This website is designed to provide parents, students and community members with information about all things Danvers High School in an easy to navigate, use-friendly format. New this year is our Danvers Public Schools Mobile App, which is downloadable to your iPhone or Smartphone from either the App Store or Google Play. As students journey through their high school years, our goal is to have each develop a passion for learning, belong to a club, group or team and ensure that upon graduation, every door of opportunity remains open for a limitless future. We are grateful for the continued and tremendous support given to us by the at-large community, town boards and our collaborative partnerships with the Department of Public Works, town hall, the police and fire departments and our colleagues in the district.
