The Inn at the Oaks is a charming 13 room Inn located in Cape Cod’s historic Eastham, MA. Our four suites are perfect for longer stays, and the nine rooms in the Main House have many special features like a fireplace, a wood stove, a private porch, or a soaking tub. We also have spacious pet friendly rooms in our Carriage House, each with separate entrances and thoughtful attention to the comfort of our four-legged guests and their owners. Built in 1870, the Inn has been serving guests since the 1920’s, when naturalist writer Henry Beston periodically stayed at the Inn while writing his classic book The Outermost House. Beston’s book is said to have inspired the formation of the National Seashore, signed into law by President Kennedy in 1961, and protecting our cherished coastline forever.
Eastham is the “Gateway to the National Seashore” where you will find forty miles of pristine sandy beach, marshes, ponds, and uplands. Lighthouses and wild cranberry bogs offer a glimpse of Cape Cod’s past. Swimming beaches and walking and biking trails beckon every visitor with an appreciation for nature’s great gifts. The Inn is across from the National Seashore’s Visitor Center, and we are an easy drive from historic towns like Chatham, Orleans, Wellfleet, and Provincetown, where you will find a diverse mix of shops, restaurants, theaters, galleries, and so much more. The Berkshires in western Massachusetts boasts miles of hiking trails, ski resorts and a vibrant arts and culture scene. Well-to-do families based in the Boston area have long used the Berkshires as a summer retreat destination, although you can enjoy a romantic getaway in the Berkshires during all four seasons. Walk through quintessential New England villages and explore the region's rich history. Hike the Mohawk Trail or water ski on the Connecticut River. There are more bed and breakfasts in the Berkshires than there are hotels, and while some of these properties charge upward up $500 per night, there are dozens of quaint, affordable properties for a cheap romantic getaway.
