Today's extract from @cfbayern's 'Bayern Insider' highlights Bayern's search for a new coach in 2018 - Hasan Salihamidžić invited Thomas Tuchel to his home in Munich. Tuchel traveled to Munich and the pair spoke for 3 hours ⤵️

Initially, it was Karl-Heinz Rummenigge who brought Tuchel into play at Bayern immediately after Carlo Ancelotti's dismissal. Following the talks, Hasan Salihamidžić was also enthusiastic about hiring Tuchel

However, President Uli Hoeneß slowed down the negotiations by continuing to try to convince Heynckes to continue. When Hoeneß finally accepted that Heynckes would leave at the end of the season, Bayern were too late with their call to Tuchel. The coach had already agreed with PSG

The end is known - Instead, Bayern appointed Niko Kovač. Hoeneß defended Kovac until the end, but could not prevent the Croatian from failing at Bayern in the end.. [@cfbayern]
