The first thing to know about April 30 is that it was never meant to happen on that day. The uprising was planned for May 1st, when Guaido had called for protests. They had to move a day early because they were scared that there was a leak of information.

I might give an update later about one of the lesser covered events that happened outside of Caracas.

The plan was kept secret from a lot of people to try and ensure no one would leak the plans, not even Guaidos team knew about it. The whole thing was planned by Leopoldo Lopez who was able to contact people such as Maikel Moreno and Cristopher Figuera to plan the uprising.

3.

The original plan involved Maikel Moreno and Vladimir Padrino Lopez, Maikel Moreno however wanted to become president in exchange for removing Maduro.

4.

The night before on the 29th April they communicated to both padrino and Moreno that the plans were being moved forward to the next day, but none of them ever responded. Padrinos phone was turned off and he never responded.

5.

If the plan had gone forward then it was expected that soldiers loyal to Guaido would have gone and taken control of the VTV headquarters in Caracas where Maikel Moreno would have announced that Maduro was being removed from power.

6.

Something many people don’t know is that there was also action outside of Caracas. The main plan outside of Caracas consisted of seizing CAVIM in Maracay. Some soldiers from BAEL and other areas managed to carry out this plan, but they didn’t take control for long

7.

A senior official from CAVIM was detained by these soldiers.

8.

There is only limited information about what happened when soldiers loyal to Maduro turned up. But there is 2 photos that give an idea. Some were captured like the soldier below.

9.

Others however suffered a worse fate and were shot. The soldier below was shot in the eye but reportedly survived.

10.

The whole event at CAVIM went virtually unreported by everyone, despite it having significant activity on April 30 and there is very little information on what happened to the soldiers that took part in the raid of CAVIM.
