I started making an adult visual in February of 2021, born out of a frustration at the lack of female protaginist games with a focus on lesbian content. So I figured, why not make one myself!
Yuri University is my first visual novel to come from this endeavour. It is a sandbox, stat-managing style VN, with 5 main girls for you to get to know however you'd like, plus several side characters that you can seek out or encounter through random events.
You take the character of a young woman coming to university with her best friend. Your character, whose name you can choose, has never had a relationship before, having never been interested in boys. When she meets her new uni house mates, they surprise her with their openness and sex-positivity, and our heroine quickly realises for the first time that she's attracted to girls.
But having taken so long to realise this, she's self-conscious about her lack of experience. Fortunately, she's in a house filled with girls who seem to be open to some casual experimenting!
Guide your character through these blossoming friendships, deciding how you spend each day. Don't forget about your studies - this is a university too!
Your best friend for a long time, your BFF (name customisable) has come to the same uni has you. Like you, she thinks she's straight. You quickly realise you're gay, but will she realise a new truth about herself too?
The first girl from your new house you meet, Ezri makes quite the first impression. Her provocative outfit stirs a reaction in you, but it's her openness and accepting nature that helps you become comfortable with yourself.
A bubbly and happy physics student, Hannah is a fun and chatty character. She can be a bit ditzy, constantly unaware that she's showing her underwear. She also has a bit of a naughty side to her that she's eager to share with the right person.
A straight-talking, open art student, Ashley is always up for a bit of fun with friends. She may not really know what she wants from life yet, but for now she's happy to just have a bit of fun.
Quiet and reserved, Scarlett is the other art student in the house. Don't let her initial quietness fool you - once she's gotten to know you a little, she's very keen to make friends. Although she's always known she's gay, she's never been with anyone - will you be the one to change that?
Yuri university is a sandbox visual novel with stat management. Each day, you decide what location you want to go to, what activity to engage with, and who to interact with.
Different activities will increase your stats, which will unlock extra options in scenes. Don't forget to keep up your studies - there are three exams throughout the year, and passing them unlocks extra special scenes!
Spending time with the main characters will increase increase their affection, unlocking new scenes (including animations) with them and levelling up their relationship progress.
You'll have 100 days to get to know your favourite characters as best you can, whilst keeping your studies up in order to pass your finals. ( Note: as of version 0.51 the game ends at day 50, although you have the option of going back a week with your progress intact . This will be extended as the games is updated and more scenes are added, with the final version reaching to day 100 and possibly beyond! )
You can also earn money in several ways, in order to buy bonuses to your stats and spicy extras.
Care has been taken to ensure a minimal amount of grind, so that you can just enjoy getting closer to the characters at your own pace.
As well as the five main characters, there are a number of other people around campus for you to meet, from a variety of backgrounds. You'll bump into most of them through random events, so keep your eyes open!
There are also random events with the main characters, which might present you with chances to further develop your relationship.
I've been developing Yuri University on my own for over a year now. I wanted to ensure there was a good amount of content before release, but now I want to see if there's actually interest.

v0.52 is now complete, and will be released for everyone in 1 week! It adds BFF's scene 5, scene 3 of sex tutoring with Ezri and Scarlett, and a couple of small other bits. I'll write a devlog with all the changes when it's released.

I totally love your work. I'm thankful for this, it's totally wholesome and no rapey bullshit that I'm often disappointed to find in adult games with female protagionists.
If I may have a request: Is it planned to add trans woman or the option to add the option of being a trans woman yourself?
There is currently one trans woman as a side character: Maple, who you can meet randomly around campus looking very lost. She currently only has the one scene where you meet her, but I have several more planned for her in the future.
Extensive customisation options such as your character being trans are unfortunately beyond my capabilities at the moment, I'm sorry to say. Maybe one day in the future when I'm more experienced with making games!

A bug was reported with the replay gallery, where you would lose all of your stats and custom name going in. Since that nullifies the main reason I included the ability to replay scenes in the first place, I'm pushing an updated version which fixes this.
This bug only affected new saves - but since this is the first version uploaded to itch.io, chances are it affects everyone here!
After downloading the new v0.511, you must progress to the next in-game day (sleeping in your bedroom is fine, or any other way). After that, the problem should be resolved.
I'll post a devblog when the update is available.

You are right, there is an obnoxious amount of content that claims to be "lesbian" but has you play as fugly ass man instead of a lesbian woman. As well as WAY too many games that simply aren't lesbian ones. You are doing the community a great service by making this game. and it looks interesting too ;)
I was playing a game a long while ago (that will remain nameless) that had a female protagonist and said it had lesbian content, but it was so few and far between that it would be hours before I saw the tiniest morsel. That's when I finally decided to really give the game dev thing a try, and make the sort of game I wished I could play.
