A mum is facing prison time after she staged a wedding between two child influencers and shared photos of them chained together.
A mother has been questioned by police after she staged a wedding between her eight-year-old daughter and another 13-year-old blogger.
Mila Maxanets and teen Pavel Pai, Ukrainian child influencers, reportedly began “dating” with the full support of both of their parents.
Their parents have both claimed they didn’t see any problems with the new living arrangements, and have denied trying to cash in on their offspring’s fame. Mila has more than 516,000 followers on Instagram, while Pavel has more than 50,000.
The outrage comes amid local media reports claiming the parents have encouraged the children to now live together in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev and take provocative photos, including a recent post which showed them chained together for 24 hours for a “challenge”.
The wedding announcement caused widespread anger and concerns over the danger the influencers could cause to other children.
After announcing their “relationship” and posting photos with their arms linked in chains, people called for their social media account to be blocked, and for officials to step in. Comments have now been disabled on Mila’s Instagram account.
The parents were also criticised for encouraging the young bloggers. Local reports claimed Mila’s mother has been questioned by police over the photos, and prosecutors have opened a criminal case regarding the alleged distribution of pornography.
Penalties for illegal pornography range from being fined, placed under house arrest or being given a prison sentence.
Mila’s father has also commented on the situation saying he is outraged, according to Kiev Vgorode .
The father, who has been divorced for two years, claimed the mother is using Mila as her main source of income now.

A MONSTER neighbour kidnapped two schoolboys and tortured them for three days in his hidden cellar dungeon as punishment for allegedly stealing tools from his garage.
The severely traumatised 14-year-olds have been rescued from their hellhole prison in Ukraine where they had been kept locked up without food or water.
The victims, identified only by their first names of Dima and Andrey, were tortured in the central city of Kryvyi Rih.
Both victims had lost sense of time and given up hope of salvation before they were dramatically freed by shocked cops after an anonymous tip-off, reports said.
Police video shows Dima and Andrey released from the cellar during a rescue operation after spending three days locked in the basement.
The dehydrated and starving schoolboys were so terrified and exhausted that it took several hours for them to fully realise their ordeal had ended, cops said.
The teens told detectives they were kidnapped by a 36-year-old neighbour, who owns the basement.
Police spokeswoman, Hanna Starchevska, told local media: “On Sunday, the man lured the boys into his garage.
“There, he forced them down in the cellar and beat them up before putting black rubbish bags on their heads and locking them.”
During the next few days, the thug reportedly kept his victims without food or water, regularly battering them with a baseball bat and torturing them.
In the process, he hacked off a piece of one trapped victim's ear and tried to chop off the toes of the second boy with a kitchen knife, say investigators.
The neighbour confessed in full after being detained and confronted with the bloody evidence, according to the law enforcement report.
He claimed that "the boys stole some tools from his garage and he decided to punish them".
Police launched a criminal case for kidnapping and torture against the monster who was taken into custody.
He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Dima and Andrey were hospitalised and remain under constant medical monitoring.
Andrey Grigorenko, the head doctor of the Kryvyi Rih City Hospital #8 said: “The boys’ condition is moderate.
"They suffer from a concussion and have bruises all over their bodies.
“Both of them are receiving counselling.”
Residents in the neighbourhood expressed their shock following the mutilation of the lads.
Roman, a man living next door, said of the thug: “He looked like a good man.
"You never know what people are able to do.”
