This Katoey wanted to show me more of her assets but I didn't think flickr would have approved!! I had to keep telling her to put her clothes back on ;-)

The word kathoey is thought to be of Khmer origin.The term "kathoey" is not an exact equivalent of the modern western transwoman — it suggests that the person is a type of male, unlike the term sao praphet song, which suggests a female sex identity, or phet thee sam, which suggests a third gender.

Kathoey or katoey (Thai: กะเทย, IPA: [kaʔtʰɤːj]) is a male-to-female transgender person or an effeminate gay male in Thailand. Related phrases include sao (or phuying) praphet song (Thai: สาวประเภทสอง,"a second kind of woman"), or phet thi sam (Thai: เพศที่สาม, "third sex"). The word kathoey is thought to be of Khmer origin[1] (the equivalent Khmer word is "kteuy").[2] It is most often rendered as ladyboy in English conversation with Thais and this latter expression has become popular across South East Asia except in the Philippines where the term bakla is often used.

An unusual ladyboy stories is that of Muay Thai boxer Parinya Kiatbusaba, better known by her nickname of Nong Toom. He would enter the weigh-in wearing full make up, and sometimes a wig, and goad his opponents by blowing kisses and generally acting effeminately. One of the reasons he entered the sport was to pay for a sex change operation. In 1999, at the age of 19, he underwent sex-change surgery in Bangkok, and reappeared as a statuesque and pretty female. She was now forbidden to fight, and took up a career in entertainment. A film called Beautiful Boxer was made about her life.
The Lady Boys of Bangkok is a cabaret show featuring sixteen kathoey from Thailand. The show includes elements of dance, cabaret, and comedy.
The Lady Boys perform as part of the Edinburgh Festival and Brighton Festival Fringe, and they regularly tour the United Kingdom both before and after their August run in Scotland. The show in Edinburgh takes place in The Sabai Pavilion, a large purpose-built tent.
Devils and Angels is a UK-wide tour, by the Lady Boys of Bangkok, due in 2008. The production includes hits from the Spice Girls, as well as Grease to Moulin Rouge. The cities toured in the UK will be: Derby, Brighton, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Leeds and Liverpool.

As society becomes more open-minded about transgenders, the demographic is enjoying real opportunities beyond low-level Pattaya showgirl gigs or unattainable “Tiffany-level” beauty queen status. 10. @belle_nuntita : Pop singer Nuntita “Belle” Khampiranon, 29, became famous overnight after her audition on Thailand’s Got Talent 2011. Her ability to sing in both male and female voices captured worldwide attention. She signed a contract with Sony BMG and her first single “Siang Tee Bplian” was a big hit.

9. @jele_panvilas : Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2012 Panvilas “Jele” Mongkol won the second runner-up in the 2012 Miss International Queen contest. Jele works as a model and appears on multiple TV shows. She was also once accused of animal abuse after she allegedly threw her boyfriend’s cat , as reported by Coconuts Bangkok.
8. @kaitong_chicky : Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2006 Ratrawee “Kaitong” Jiraprapakul won the third place in the Miss International Queen pageant and is now running a cosmetics brand Secret Queen by Ratrawee.
7. @nek_nethnapada : Nethnapada “Nek” Kalyanond was recently crowned Miss Tiffany’s Universe 2013. She is now on a media tour in preparation for competing in this year’s Miss International Queen contest.
6. @sammy_siira : Siripatsorn “Sammy” Atthayakorn was crowned Miss Tiffany’s Universe and Miss International Queen in 2011. Sammy is a student at Dhurakij Pandit University’s Communication Arts School.
5. @nongfilmtiffany : Tanyarat “Film” Jirapatpakon also won both national and international beauty pageants in 2007. She was also recently an air hostess for P.C. Air, the first Thai airline to hire only transsexual attendants . After P.C. Air was shut due to financial restraints, Film became a model, host and presenter of various beauty products.
4. @amy_ratchada : Ratchada “Amy” Krutramet did not win any beauty queen titles, but constant gossip of relationships with various actors has kept her in the news. Amy was accused of trying to steal Channel 7 diva Patcharapa “Aum” Chaichuea’s boyfriend.
3. @lookpad_purimprud : Purimprud “Lookpad” Chaiyakham is a professional entertainer. The 28-year-old Pattaya native appeared in a huge number of TV series, shows and music videos. Lookpad got through the semi-final round of Thailand’s Got Talent Season 2, and right now works as an Alcazar cabaret show performer.
2. @picyanan_sri : Picyanan “Ploy” Srisawaspakorn swiftly rose to fame after a rumor that she had sex with Channel 3’s Phasut “Art” Banyaem. The news almost caused a breakup between Phasut and his girlfriend. Regardless of whether that rumor is true, Ploy is definitely a household name ladyboy and even once grace the cover of famed Volume magazine.

This was one of the first times I had ventured out in public. Cindy & I were just two of the only 3 British TGirls present at the Epsom Playhouse for this highly acclaimed show,
Touring the UK at a city/town near you from April to October 2022. The show is well worth attending!

Well...... this young Lothario thought he had won the lottery... when he chanced upon Cindy and me...... Notice his right hand has firmly engaged with Cindy's posterior, while I have got his left hand safely contained. On the table adjacent to us were his girlfriend and her friend, which ensured things didn't get out of of hand any further...
A night out at the Epsom Playhouse to watch the 'LadyBoys of Bangkok' show.
If you get the opportunity to see it, take it. Went with another Tgirl together with our partners, and spotted two other TGirl friends in the audience and linked up with them for a post show curry.
Earlier, Julie attended the opening night in Brighton, of the amazing Ladyboys of Bangkok 2011 UK tour, where 16 of the world’s most beautiful show-girls (who just happen to be men) entertain, in a 2 hour show, in an irresistible mixture of comedy, cabaret and raunchy capers, with Hollywood icons, living legends.

It was a wild, and windy night, still dry when we entered the 'Sabai Pavilion tent' at 9pm, but the heavens had opened by the time we came out at 11.15...

Having missed our annual weekend in Newcastle last year we were really looking forward to it this time round, and it didn't disappoint!
Saturday was an absolutely awesome day and night!
I got to meet up with my friend Sarah who I hadn't seen for a couple of years, which was fantastic and great to catch up. Shame it was only a brief drink in the afternoon.
In the evening we went to see the Ladyboys of Bangkok as we always do in Newcastle. They were amazing - again - and we were right next to the stage at the front!
I even danced - and got noticed by one of the performers on stage, ha ha! Gemma captured it on her phone so there is proof! And we met a lovely couple of ladies there - Shak and Linzi - who were are still friends with and looking forward to meeting up with them again for the next Ladyboys show!
After the show we spent an amazing night in Rusty's - just endless people coming to chat with us, a brilliant night. One of the best we have ever had, and that really is saying something!
To top it all off, Gemma and her light-up bag got a round of applause as we were leaving, ha ha. A perfect end to a perfect day!

I have only used short clips of a few songs as you really need to go and watch it for yourself to appreciate it

Saturday was our last full day in Newcastle, and we had lots planned. Meeting Michelle and Rachel (of Trans Radio UK fame), then off the see the Ladyboys of Bangkok, and then a night out. What a brilliant time we had!
