It's good and each episode provides a happy ending. It's just that something feels like it's missing. You get this sense that there's a lot of sadness behind the happy endings. For instance, in episode one it's emphasized that David has been divorced three times and Annie is only two years older than Troy, David's son. There's a scene where Annie dresses up in a wedding dress and David makes a point that it's not legal and even though she goes all out to look like a bride David walks out with Annie in shorts and a sloppy shirt. It's sad. You want them to be that couple that finds everlasting love but with Annie's lack of any legal protection and David's track history you feel so sad because you can't help but imagine what would happen to Annie if David walked out when she's in her forties or fifties. In episode two I just couldn't stop wondering what happened to the two children Scott left behind. Obviously he's not supporting them or taking part in their upbringing and it's sad. Even his relationship with Pang is sad. Sure he provided $9,000 to get her business started but now he's just sitting at the bar drinking as Pang works the bar and supports her family. The series is definitely worth watching but it feels superficial.

Before I traveled to SouthEast Asia, I had the mistaken stereotype that ladyboys were nothing more than "fabulous" cross dressers. I was wrong. Here is a well produced documentary that shows the very loving side of a few transgendered women - along with their struggles with their society, their families, their loves, and themselves. And each story comes to a happy conclusion, as each person followed looks forward with optimism - you know that they will succeed at whatever life throws at them. You will find it difficult to not smile at the end of each episode. (This seems to be a British show, so the pacing is slow - but the stories are heartwarming and worth a look.) If you are true to yourself and you accept yourself - there is nothing else that really can steal your self worth. And optionally, if you realize that each of the characters stood up for what they believed was right - you might be inclined to find something within yourself that makes you proud. Thanks for putting this on Prime.

Interesting to say the least. I feel sorry for these ladies, I respect their desire to become women but that's not really what is going on here. These guys are taking advantage of them to suit their own needs. It is apparent through this whole documentary none of these guys even give a crap about their own kids. The young man had to go back to England so he can get money to come back and see his dad. No effort on the dad to visit his own son nor to spend time alone with him. The other guy seeing his kids once a year, I don't understand seeing he had to leave every 90 days. Their was no love with them just lust. They took these girls supposedly away from prostitution, but one just became pretty much the pimp. These guys are selfish lazy pigs in my book. These girls have no other choice they are doing everything they can to provide for their families. These half transitions is not a result from them associating with being female it's to fullfill these sick fantasies for money. Let's call this what it really is "Sex Slavery".

Well done documentary for anyone interested in the content. If you are supposedly offended or pissed off about the episodes, why did you sit through and watch it. The title and description told you what you were going to be indulging in. You chose to invite something you found so extremely abhorrent into your world and have the audacity to rate it based on your personal issues with the content. If you are given the power to rate something do it with intelligence. I don't agree with the lifestyle, I don't have to, in order to want to become more informed about the society we are ALL living in.

I loved the second episode about Paeng. She was such a strong and shrewd business woman, and did a lot to help the people from her hometown with the money from her success. She really seemed like a matriarch among her group of friends. I only wish the series had shown more of the struggles that these people face. Prostitution is almost always their only option for survival, and they're pressured by their families to send money home.

Loved it! Really opened my eyes and mind and understood them as real people. Sounds strange to say that but I found myself smiling with their victories, and I have a new found respect for their bravery and strength that evolves through transgender challenges. Such a shame that prostitution is the only way to earn a living for many. That is heartbreaking.

I started watching this short series because an episode of one of my tv shows wasn't up yet and i figured this at the very least would be entertaining..... I didn't however expect this short series to be as heartwarming as it was. The guys are just sweet guys looking for happiness, the "ladyboys" are trying to do the same and the fact of the matter is that we are all trying to do the same. If i were ever the least bit judgemental about transsexual people I no longer am.These ladyboys are some of the most loving and hardworking people. I wish these couples the best.
