With the help of Hyperion and Manifold, Sunspot traveled to A.I.M. Island to stake his claim on the organization and clear out the dead wood such as Andrew Forson. Sunspot engaged in personal combat with Forson in his A.I.M. battle suit, defeating the Scientist Supreme and claiming control of A.I.M. for the good of humanity. [Avengers World #19]

He possesses the ability to re-channel the solar energy which his body absorbs, by which he takes the solar energy and uses it for a variety of related purposes:
He possesses the ability to fly by propelling himself through the air, by force of will, by generating thermal updrafts. Bobby has also refined this ability to be able to hover in the air without leaving a heat trail and can reach speeds of up to 150 mph maximum without overexerting himself. Reaching speeds of 750 mph in his over charged state. He can purportedly reach escape velocities by way of breaching planetary orbit and achieve space traversal.
When Sunspot's cells are powered by solar energy, he has the superhuman ability to augment his physical strength. The original limits of his strength were that of 2 tons. Presently, Sunspot's strength has increased to uncontrollable levels as a side effect of his M-Pox infection. During the game between the Grandmaster and the Challenger, Sunspot considered himself to be the strongest mutant on Earth but using that much power would eventually be lethal to him. Ever since his resurrection, Sunspot's powers not only seem to have stabilized but metastasized in odd ways. Once boasting of how he was stronger than majestor Gladiator of the Shi'Ar and proving some merit to his claim by temporarily restraining him as he and the New Mutants battled it out with his Imperial Guard.

Sunspot is one of the interesting powerhouses of the Marvel Universe due to the fact that he is one of the only ones that does not have heightened invulnerability. During many of the comics that Sunspot was seen in his teammates would remind him that he was super strong but not super durable. Although Sunspot has not been seen able to deflect bullets, his limited durability does provide his body the needed protection to be able to lift the massive weight that his super strength allows him to. However, this appears to have been contradicted as he has taken a bomb blast from a device latched onto his side and come out of it unscathed, taken blows from Smasher with some discomfort, survived a laser blast to the face from the A.I.M scientist supreme and endure the rigors of interplanetary traversal without suffering ill effects.
Ability to project heat in intense waves when he absorbs and re-channels solar energy from any part of his body to raise the temperature. Roberto can also absorb heat into his body to lower the temperature in his immediate area. He can also project and absorb heat directly into/from people, causing intense discomfort over their fluctuating body temperatures.
Sunspot has the underlying ability to project, drain and cast light as intense waves from absorbing and re-channeling solar energy, as well as ambient EM wavelengths. To the extent of which is unknown, but he is able enough to use this facet of his powers to nullify photon waves from the scientist supreme of A.I.M. and deal a laser emission back with nearly double the force.
Thermokinetic Concussive/Energy Blasts:
During Sunspot's time with X-Force he was kidnapped by a supervillain named Gideon who performed various experiments on him. Gideon exposed Sunspot's body to massive amounts of solar energy in order to test the limits of his solar absorption. After these experiments Sunspot's body was overloaded with solar energy and he later gained the ability to fire blasts of heat and concussive force.
He has the ability to project concussive dark plasma energy blasts from his hands, with about 20 tons of force behind them at their most powerful.
Da Costa can absorb various forms of energy available to him beyond just sunlight in order to bolster himself even further, even drawing upon and distilling the harmful effects of a laser blast. He also successfully drew upon the energies of the resurrected Abomination who had been altered to emit vast quantities of Gamma Radiation.
While in transformed state, Da Costa uses his energy abilities to provide nourishment for himself, allowing him to survive out in the cold of deep space. Using the self-sustain ability he can heal himself with the energy he absorbs.
As is the norm with most pyrokinetics, Sunspot is immune to all forms of heat and fire as they simply add to his abilities and his mutant metabolism is able to simply convert these two forms and augment his abilities. This includes heat powers that are directed at him as well as heat that is present because of weather conditions. Sunspot has also been seen with the ability to absorb the energy that fire gives off and has remained unharmed while walking through it.
As part of the X-Men, Sunspot has been trained by the likes of Wolverine and other mutants in combat. Since joining the Avengers, Sunspot received further training. He's further honed his skills by fighting/training against strong opponents such as Captain America, Black Panther, and Daredevil. Sunspot has become a very skilled fighter, by training with the X-Men and Avengers. He has also trained in the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira.
Following his acquisition of A.I.M., Roberto has shown to be a proficient tactician, being able to turn a ploy of the Maker to take over A.I.M. against the villain himself, through misdirection, and exploiting the flaws in the Maker's own plans.
Since becoming the CEO of Da Costa International, Roberto has developed skills for business and finance. Professing of being a super-powered billionaire in his own right.
Roberto speaks English, Spanish, and is fluent in Portuguese. He is also fluent in the future language of the Askani.
This was taken near the entrance to Lost Prairie campground along highway 20 in the Cascades. The trees were so filled with snow it was just beautiful. At first I was a little sad there was no sun, but then if there had been I would probably have had a terrible time not blowing out the exposure. The snow plows were doing a great job and we had no trouble at all navigating the winding roads.
Nyarlathotep’s body rag dolled into the rocks as Mjolnir flew back into Morgan’s grasp. The entity from the outer void hissed with anger as its jaw started to reform from an inky blackness that swirled around its body.
Lilith raised her slim arms and ebon wings formed at her back and she drew upon her full power, causing the air to shimmer around her like waves of incandescent heat. Morgan raised the hammer into the air and accepted the mantle of the thunder god as lightning crackled around his powerful frame. The hammer itself glowed brightly with glee as its reluctant owner finally accepted it and the power it represented.
The cold anger in Morgan’s heart manifested as storm clouds swiftly built up around the Bavarian Alps, his eyes glowing brightly as he turned his gaze at the thing that threatened the people he loved. Lilith rose into the air on her wings and the power of her will. Like an Angel of Darkness she rose, both beautiful and terrible in her power as the first time in countless years, she revealed her full might. Lilith’s magical senses scoured the area and she felt the deep flowing power of a major ley line beneath them. A plan formed in her mind that made her lips curl with sensual pleasure, it was risky… audacious and after years of being in the shadows… it would be fun.
“Morgan, I have a plan… Keep him busy!” Lilith shouted in a clear ringing voice.
Nyarlathotep rose to his feet and sneered at the pair of demi-gods, “Pathetic fools! You have only delayed the inevit….!!!” The minion of the elder gods screamed as white-hot lightning hit him in the groin, millions of volts of pure unbridled energy scoured and burned the physical shell of the monster. From the raised hands of the sorceress, bolts of both physical and psychic mystical energy lanced out and pummeled into Nyarlathotep, shattering the darkness surrounding him and driving him to his knees.
“Lesser minion of a forgotten and impotent godling hiding fearfully in the darkness of the void! You dare to challenge ME and the God Slayer???” Lilith snarled with anger and outrage as Morgan crashed into the dark minion, raining powerful blows on the creature.
Enraged, Nyarlathotep attacked the immortal champion with powered fists that the hero dodged or deflected with mocking ease.
Lilith alighted back on the ground, and watched the battle for a moment as she formed a complex spell in her mind. While the minion of the elder god was no match for Morgan in physical combat, she knew that close proximity to the aura of the creature was antithetical to all things living and her companion was enduring incredible pain to keep it in place. With her spell complete in her mind, she started to walk around the pair. With each step, a line of incredibly complex magic formed; a magic circle tailored to her foe. Morgan would have to hold Nyarlathotep in place as she built the trap that would contain it.
Morgan gritted his teeth at the dark power tearing at him as he mockingly slapped his opponent across the face with enough force to shatter stone. He glanced at Lilith and saw the beautiful sorceress intently focused on building a circle around him. He was fairly certain she would warn him when to get clear… BUT… he’d keep an eye open, just in case. He had the measure of Nyarlathotep, he also knew that the battle to defeat him alone would devastate Bavaria and risk millions. The containment that Lilith was forming would prevent that.
Lilith worked her magic, her mind and will focused on the task of containing a creature with the power of a god, she caught the brief glance from Morgan. He recognized what she was doing and she knew the pragmatic warrior saw the need for it and in that brief look, trusted her. In truth, she had contemplated encasing them both in a circle tied to the ley line and letting the God Slayer do what he did best. That outcome was by no means certain and would require her to take steps to finish the job herself. Her eyes again glanced at him, moving with incredible grace and power, keeping Nyarlathotep busy and unaware of what she was doing. Once upon a time she would have declared such trust as foolish, but now, she found the trust of the father of her daughter, surprisingly important. There was another option she considered, one that was riskier and more dangerous to her, something that would challenge her skill and power and that too was enticing.
As Lilith neared the completion of the circle, Nyarlathotep became aware of the danger and the risk and tried to break free or disrupt the casting. But every move was countered and blocked by the damnable godling battling him. Doing so cost the hated God Slayer heavily and gave the minion of the elder god some satisfaction in returning some of the pain he’d received. As Lilith approached the last step to take to complete the circle, she had seen the handsome warrior taking bolts of arcane energy intended for her and that act put him in her debt and she decided on her next actions.
“Morgan! Get out Now!” She cried out as she started to close the circle. Morgan swung Mjolnir in a mighty two-handed blow, driving Nyarlathotep into the rocky ground before leaping up and back, narrowly escaping the glowing bubble of magical force and nimbly performing a three-point landing near Lilith.
Lilith arched an eyebrow as the grinning warrior looked up at her, “Nice superhero landing dear.”
Morgan winked at the sorceress as he stood up, “Shocking that you know what a superhero is… So, what are we going to do with Narco-imhotep here?” pointing at the barely human looking figure pounding on the circle wards.
Lilith smirked, “Blame our daughter on movie night choices. I was thinking of incineration. Extreme incineration.”
“Damn and I forgot to pack the marshmallows. I assume this is more involved than waving your hands and saying ‘ala peanut butter sandwiches’.”
“Somewhat, yes. And S’mores sounds better and I forgot the graham crackers and chocolate.”
“What are you planning and how risky is it? Bavaria is rather pretty; I’d like to keep it that way.” Morgan replied more seriously.
“I’m going to divert and focus a ley line under Nyarlathotep.”
Morgan blinked, “You’re going to… aaand… you will be able to put it back?”
Lilith shrugged, “Maybe…It was that or keep you in there for a demi-god cage match.”
“Fair enough, he’s a lousy dance partner anyway. So, what do you need me to do?”
“Stand in front of me and look handsome?” Lilith smiled and fluttered her eyelashes before adding, “Oh, and block the waves of intense heat and wild magic so I can focus on putting things back in place.”
“Ah so ‘hammer wielding meat shield’ I saw the same movies, I’m not sure it works like that, but we’ll try.”
Morgan stepped in front of the sorceress and turned to face the circle and the raging creature from the outer void. Lilith reached down into the earth with her power, feeling the currents and eddies of living magic as she felt the ley line humming below. Tapping into that stream of power was painful, but pain was something the beautiful sorceress learned to put aside ages ago. Methodically she built the focusing construct first and then pondered how to dam and divert the river of power. In her mind she envisioned the magical construct as she formed it around the ley line, linking it to the magic circle containing Nyarlathotep and the focusing spell in between. Like all things in nature, the ley line followed the path of least resistance, so the sorceress built a conduit to move the flow in the direction she wanted. That was the easy part, the hard part she knew was putting it back into place.
“Now…” she whispered softly as Morgan began to spin Mjolnir in front of him, forming a shield of living lightning between them and the circle. Lilith reached down and closed the circuit, raw power changed course and hit her focusing construct with almost limitless energy. Raising her fist, she screamed as she held it together as a beam brighter than the sun burst from the earth and into the containment circle. Nyarlathotep didn’t have time to scream as the torrent of power filled the warding, that held amazingly for a whole second containing that awful power. The beam burst into the air, vaporizing air and clouds as it reached out into space. Morgan’s shout of pain was drowned out by the thunder
