YouTuber and Minecraft Streamer Technoblade 23, Dies from Cancer


YouTuber and Minecraft streamer Technoblade has passed away at the age of 23 after a long battle with cancer stage four.

The creator of content from San Francisco who kept his identity a secret until revealing his name in the end of the video as "Alex" rose to fame after posting videos of himself playing Minecraft online in 2013. He then went on to gain more than 10 million subscribers.

He was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer last August. He spent the majority of the past year in a secluded area as he underwent chemotherapy.

Although it isn't known the type of cancer Alex had however, he was able to raise money for charities fighting sarcoma - and in December Alex announced that he'd undergone surgery to remove a tumor in his arm.

In a video posted to Technoblade's YouTube channel on the day of the release with the title "So long nerds," his father who's name is not known revealed the devastating announcement of his son's passing with his many followers and shared a posthumous message of condolence from the renowned YouTube star.

He described his son as "the most amazing child" and shared an audio recording of his son. He stated that if he had another hundred lives, he'd choose to be Technoblade once more , because these were the most memorable years of my life.

Technoblade was a highly private person who never shared his personal information. He mostly posted videos on the sandbox game Minecraft.

He was blessed with three younger sisters, a brother named Chris and Floof, his dog, who appeared in his farewell video along with his father.

In one of his videos, he admitted that his parents divorced, and he lived with his father who owns a movie studio.

After graduating high school, he took a gap-year before moving to Chicago to study English.

However , he returned to San Francisco after dropping out.

He explains in one his videos why he created the Tecnoblade channel to build confidence and get 10 million subscribers.

He quickly built a following of millions by sharing numerous clips of himself playing Minecraft but he did not reveal his face or name to fans.

He shared the shocking news of his cancer diagnosis in August in a YouTube video called "Where I've Been" which has been watched over 13 million times.

In the video, he explained to his fans that he was diagnosed with cancer following a thought that he was suffering from an injury to his arm and revealing: 'In the last few days of July, my right arm started to hurt quite a bit.'

The content creator (seen at left) who had not revealed his name or face before the final video was uploaded was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in the year last.

He believed it was a stress-related injury from his gaming habits and took several days off before recognizing it wasn't going away.
