Cerebras Systems (CBRS) is giving investors another reason to pay attention to its ambitions in the rapidly expanding artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator market. On Aug. 18, the company unveiled its new CS-4 rack-scale platform, which it says can deliver up to 30 times faster AI inference than comparable GPU-based systems. Built around three new WSE-3 Turbo processors, CS-4 delivers 750 petaflops of AI compute, 7.2 terabits per second of I/O bandwidth, and 129.6 petabytes per second of memory bandwidth. The launch comes at a critical time for Cerebras.
