Junko MinagawaJunko Minagawa (皆川 純子, Minagawa Junko, born November 22) is a Japanese voice actress affiliated with Haikyo. Her best-known role is Ryoma Echizen, the title character in The Prince of Tennis anime series. She sang some of the show's theme songs, insert songs, and character singles, some of which have charted in Oricon's single rankings. Other major roles include Ayaka Yukihiro in the Negima series, Akira in Aria, Cao Chun Yan in Fighting Beauty Wulong, Cornelia Li Britannia in Code Geass, Khamsin in Shakugan no Shana, Yoshitaka Nakabayashi in He Is My Master, Sailor Uranus in Sailor Moon Crystal, Mereoleona Vermillion in Black Clover, and Yun in Yona of the Dawn.

Yona of the DawnYona of the Dawn (Japanese: 暁のヨナ, Hepburn: Akatsuki no Yona) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Mizuho Kusanagi. It has been serialized in Hakusensha's shōjo manga magazine Hana to Yume since August 2009, with its chapters collected in 45 tankōbon volumes as of December 2024. The series is licensed for English release in North America by Viz Media. Set in an ancient Chinese and Korean-inspired fantasy world, the story follows Princess Yona as she flees a coup in the fictional kingdom of Kouka and heralds on a journey to save Kouka from both invasion and internal collapse. A 24-episode anime television series adaptation produced by Pierrot aired between October 2014 and March 2015.

The series follows Yona, the princess of the Kouka Kingdom, who is chased out of the castle with her bodyguard, Son Hak, after her father is murdered at the hands of Yona's cousin, Soo-Won. Together, the two embark on a journey to find the legendary four dragons, in order to seek their aid in reclaiming the kingdom. It aired between October 7, 2014, and March 24, 2015, on AT-X. Funimation has licensed the anime series for streaming and home video rights in North America. Beginning on March 17, 2015, Funimation streamed their dubbed version of the anime, starting with episode 13. The first opening theme is an instrumental song by Kunihiko Ryo, called Akatsuki no Yona (暁のヨナ, lit. meaning Yona of the Dawn), while the first ending theme is Yoru (夜, lit. meaning Night) by Vistlip. The second opening theme is "Akatsuki no Hana", by Cyntia, and the second ending theme is "Akatsuki", by Akiko Shikata. Three original video animations were bundled with the manga's 19th, 21st and 22nd limited edition volumes, respectively. The first OVA was released on September 18, 2015, the second OVA was released on August 19, 2016, and the third OVA was released on December 20, 2016.

Kusanagi began serializing the manga in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume shōjo manga magazine on August 4, 2009. The story follows Yona, a princess of the fictional kingdom of Kohka. She is forced to go on the run with her friend and bodyguard Son Hak when her childhood friend Su-won murders her father and takes the throne. Viz Media announced their license to the series during their panel at New York Comic Con on October 9, 2015, along with their plans to publish the first volume in summer 2016. An original anime DVD adapting two bonus chapters from the twelfth volume was included in a limited edition of the manga's nineteenth volume on September 18, 2015. Two more OADs were included with the twenty-first and twenty second volumes of the manga on August 19, 2016, and December 20, 2016, respectively. Hakusensha published the first tankōbon volume on January 19, 2010, and since then a total of forty-five volumes have been released. Viz Media published the first volume in North America on August 2, 2016.
