A STUNNED wife discovered her husband was have an incestuous affair with his own daughter when she read her child's diary.
Steven Pladl, 42, of Wake County, North Carolina, left his wife to start a relationship with Katie Pladl, 20 - and even fathered her child.
The wife, who has not been named, discovered the terrible truth when she went through her other children's journals and found Katie was pregnant, and Steven was the dad.
When confronted, he told his wife about the affair and moved 150 miles with his daughter to Knightdale, North Carolina.
The couple gave up Katie Pladl for adoption as a baby but she contacted her parents through social media when she turned 18, police said.
She went to live with her biological parents and their two children near Richmond, Virginia, in August 2016 before the couple legally separated three months later, according to WNCN.
His wife told cops her husband would sleep on the floor of Katie's room in the months before she moved out.
Steven told his other children to call their eldest sibling their 'step mom', according to the police report.
In November last year a warrant was issued for their arrest.
They were located at an address last week, where officers discovered a baby boy who is understood to be four-months-old.
Steve and Katie Pladl were held at the Wake County Detention Center pending extradition to Virginia and charged with incest with adult, adultery, contributing to delinquency.
Court records Steven was released on a $1 million bond while Katie, issued with the same bond, remains in jail.
According to the warrant, they are due to make their first court appearance on Monday.

A scandal involving a Reading priest is thrust into the headlines and it allegedly involves sex, lies, and videotape.
A Muhlenberg Township, Pa. couple is suing the Diocese of Allentown, claiming it failed to prevent a priest from seducing their 17-year-old daughter.
"I didn’t believe it. It was always hard to believe because he was always so nice to us. It just came as a shock to everybody," parishioner Melina Montes-de-Oca said.

In the lawsuit filed Thursday in Berks County court, the girls’ parents say their daughter’s sexual relationship with the priest began when she was a 17-year-old senior at Reading Central Catholic High School and continued until she gave birth at age 19.
The girl’s parents claim to have secretly videotaped the two having sex in the basement of their home.

Priest Sued for Allegedly Getting Girl Pregnant
Father Luis Bonilla Margarito was removed as chaplain of Central Catholic and as the pastor of St. Joseph Church in Reading, Pa.
The Diocese of Allentown would not comment on the lawsuit, but released this statement to NBC Philadelphia:
"As the diocese announced publicly at the time, Father Bonilla was removed from all assignments in November 2009. He has not functioned as a priest since then.”
Parishioners at St. Joseph Church say they considered Father Bonilla a part of their family.
"Just like anything else in your family, when something goes wrong and you have to live through it," parishioner Tom Kennedy said.
And his admitted fall from grace is something they’ve working to overcome.
"He made a mistake. He’s a man of God. I wish him all the best," Dave Krick said.
