After 90 days of experience using this xiaovv Solar Powered Security Camera I can offer my experiences that may be more valuable than reviews done just a few days following receiving the camera.
My reason for selecting this specific camera was that it was Solar powered. No wiring to installed location was required. This provides a great more convenience installing. I was somewhat concerned with the distance factor from the WiFi router and the camera’s ability to receive adequate signal through a brick wall. I was pleased with the fact that linking the camera to my WiFi was completed on the very first try and has remained rock steady throughout my use of the camera. That cannot be said by other wired WiFi outdoor security cams I have experience with. The whole installation was very, very easy. Through the xiaovv App the camera was up and running in a matter of a few minutes. The physical mounting of the camera was also made simple with the supplied hardware.
As for the performance of the camera itself? First, I can report that after fully charging the batteries with the supplied cable initially, the solar panel has kept the cameras internal batteries fully charged since day one. This includes days of mostly cloudy skies. The sharpness of the captured images is truly 1080P both day and night. The infrared night vision is also sharp. The night color vision is excellent as well when illuminated with the built in LED spotlight. The Human Detection mode works extremely well. One of things I hated most with previous outdoor security cameras was the camera could be triggered by birds and especially flying insects attracted at night by the infrared illuminators. This has never happened with the xiaovv Security Cam. Only human motion triggers the camera.
The only suggestion for improvement of this excellent security camera would be the addition of an 4X optical lens option in future iterations.
If you are looking for a great performing Wireless Outdoor PTZ Security Camera that provides good value for the dollar I can honestly recommend this one without reservation.
Easy to install. It takes about 8hrs to charge. Picture is fine but it did miss me moving around at night. It didn’t capture me at all that one time but has captured other stuff at night. Overall it works decent.
I like this product a lot. The packaging was done well and made with good material.
Very easy-to-understand instructions and the system uploaded very quickly.
The battery lasted all night as well. And the picture was good. Also, I love the security lights nice and bright. The sound also is good.
Also, the installation took me less than 30 minutes.
I recommend the product
We love this camera. The video is really good quality and the auto-detect feature is very helpful. It alerts our phones if someone comes near the house and even moves the camera utomatically to follow them as they move around. Looking forward to getting some more of these to cover all of our property!!
