Located in Xi’an, the capital city of 13 dynasties in Chinese history and the eastern
starting point of the Silk Road, XJTU is committed to world leading scholarship and
creative talent cultivation.
Law was first taught at XJTU in 1901, which was again the second earliest in China.
Alumni such as Judge WANG Chung-hui (the first Chinese Judge at the Permanent
Court of International Justice) and Judge Hsu Mo (the first Chinese Judge at the
International Court of Justice) had left significant marks in the legal developments
both within China and on world stages. The Law School is now among the 13 leading
