对于对色情片有需求的朋友们来说，"喜欢看日韩的还是欧美的"大概是个永恒于宇宙的话题。而作为日本色情产业的主力军，东京热已于前段时间随着老板跑路而宣告凉凉，日本这一重要支柱产业似乎已显颓势，可是在欧美市场，色情网站的发展好像有赶超主流视频网站之势。
作为一个女生，色情领域对我来说一直很陌生，我本该维持好这副“岁月静好”的样子，直到我看到一组数据......
全球最大的色情网站之一，Xvideos，2015年平均每月的访问量达到了44亿，是同年段美国CNN电视网访问量的3倍，是社交新闻网站Reddit的2倍。同年据Top ten reviews的统计，互联网上平均每过1秒，就有3075美元关于色情内容的消费；全球网站中的12%都是色情网站；35%的下载内容是色情片......
人类在色情领域做出的成绩让人“震惊”，于是我决定来研究一下这些色情网站的经营之道。
其实现今主流视频网站的经营模式无非就这么几种：广告、会员、视频单独收费、做直播挣钱......别不信，这些套路，色情网站几乎已经玩遍了，比如这两个较具代表性的成人视频网站：X-Art和Pornhub。
喜欢看欧美片的朋友们，对一部神作一定不陌生：FareWell（告别），讲的是在加利福尼亚沙漠里一对恋人的故事，情节请自行脑补。跟一般的AV不太一样，这部作品用料讲究，富有艺术感，是名副其实的“电影”。而其背后的X-Art，是一个被称作“神级系列”的色情片系列，片如其名，X-Art的小电影节奏舒缓，配乐优美，网上还有人专门研究其摄影与布景技巧。
X-Art在2009年上线之初就采取了会员制模式，每月充值40美金，用户就可以无限制地下载小电影。而五年之后（2015年）才上线了Youtube Red的会员服务的Youtube，会员收费也只有$9.99每月。
尽管要价“夸张”，X-Art的生意依然不错，初创第一年就拥有了数百人的订阅，后来日益增长，变成了几千人，再到几万人，第二年就开始了盈利。
除了剧情和动作这两大要素，主打“女性向”的X-Art，其特点在于选角多为走时尚路线的时装模特，取景也一般在奢华的长岛海滩和高大上的别墅。它的口碑更胜在影像处理和拍摄质量上，这些都得益于其母公司Malibu Media的创始人（之一），Brigham Field，是个专业的裸模摄影师。
准确的说Malibu Media创始人是Brigham Field和他的妻子Colette Pelissier两人。因为自己所在的房产行业的低迷，Colette Pelissier劝说做裸模摄影师的男朋友去拍情色电影，基于独特的商业眼光和专业的业务水准，两个人开始了“下海”之行。
但真正让Malibu Media这家公司风生水起的，还是围绕它的一系列版权官司。
《纽约客》文章“The Biggest Filer of Copyright Lawsuits? This Erotica Web Site”中介绍，在盈利了几年之后，Pelissier发现网站的订阅量在持续下滑，用户增长几乎停滞在了当时的5万多，通过调查，得到的结果是：每个月观看自家电影的盗版影像的足有30万人。
成人电影和色情网站的种子到处传播是很常见的现象，只不过，舍得下成本、立志拍艺术电影的Pelissier他们并不想就这么算了。
有数据显示，2013年一年，X-Art母公司Malibu Media LLC提交了1300多桩版权诉讼，占当年美国版权诉讼案数量的1/3，平均每天三四起。
这个毅力也是很惊人。不知道负责解决Malibu Media版权问题的法官的想法是什么，但目前能知道的是，他们在其中获得了额外的一笔收入：大多数被告都选择了支付两千到三万美元不等的赔偿金来解决问题。毕竟没有人愿意付出时间成本去打这场官司，在法庭上被公开质问“你有没有看过我们的盗版色情电影？”
虽然诉讼所得收入均低于Malibu Media利润的5％，但这笔得来全不费功夫的钱还是让外界质疑其诉讼的目的，毕竟如果没有利益的驱使，坚持每天发起3个诉讼也着实不易。
说到X-Art的利润收入，那还是很可观的。就在2013年，他们已经可以花上1600万美元买下位于马里布海滩的豪宅了。
可以说，在关于营销和商业模式的探索上，色情网站丝毫不输任何一个主流视频网站，比如“色情 2.0”的先驱——Pornhub。
这里有组最新的数据：2017年Pornbub全年访客为285亿，日均独立访客为8100万，全年视频上传总量可以装满世界上所有正在运行的iPhone手机......
Pornhub于2007年成立于加拿大蒙特利尔，是全球最大的色情视频分享网站之一，在Alexa上排名第80位（最高时排前30）。2010年，Pornhub被总部位于卢森堡的MindGeek收购，和其旗下的Youporn、Redtube等组成了全球最大的色情视频联盟。
Pornhub跟X-Art不同，成立以来一直都主打免费观看，在发展成为全球最大的成人片分享网站的过程中也一直没有放弃免费模式。
2014年，Pornhub倒是上线了会员制，但会员用户和免费用户的区别仅仅在于，会员花费$9.99订阅的是更高清的1080p格式视频，外加一部分的独家内容，而免费用户也能观看大部分的内容（720p的格式）。
Pornhub没有X-Art的“小而美”的概念，走的是量，战略主打平台化，像普通视频网站一样渴求流量和用户黏性。之所以被称为“色情 2.0”的先驱，因为Pornhub采用的是UGC的内容模式。除了自己制作的色情电影，用户也可以自己上传短片，此外，还有一部分资源来自第三方的视频内容制作商。
跟国内主流直播平台的盈利方式差不多，在Pornhub Live Cams观看直播需要付费，观众打钱，主播表演。色情网站也有“网红”，用观众喜欢的表演来获取礼物，用户通过付费和主播互动来看更多自己想看的内容......平台进行抽成。
平台化，也是成人网站的变革方向。而明显平台化的Pornhub在商业模式的探索上可谓“无所不用其极”。
比如这两年流行的众筹。2015年PornHub在众筹网站Indiegogo上筹款，发起“Sexploration”的项目，筹款目标是340万美元，为的是能够在太空上拍摄一段宇航员角色的性爱影片。
而参与众筹的人会得到不同的奖励，比如优先观看影片、获得跟两位主演面对面交流的机会，得到演员使用过的道具......捐款超过15万美元的支持者，能得到影片中主演穿过的太空服等，包括内衣。
但由于种种原因，众筹仅筹集到了236,086美元，最终计划流产。想拍太空题材色情片的宏伟目标虽没实现，但是这样折腾一场，各大报纸媒体报道一通，给网站白白送来了大量关注和流量。
如果说把直播和色情的元素加在一起，已经让人十分心潮澎湃，那再用上VR技术，还不得让用户血脉偾张？
2015年Pornhub就发布了配备有VR眼镜的VR色情玩具，有摇晃、按摩和加温的功能，定价$699。2016年还宣布与成人娱乐内容公司BaDoinkVR合作，在Pornhub网站上免费上映VR成人影片，并且还在智能终端上为用户进行移动端优化，据说三星Gear VR和谷歌Cardboard等VR设备都能拿来观看AV影片。
意大利时装品牌Diesel就于2016年初选择在Pornhub投放广告，之后更多时尚行业的合作邀请纷纷飞向Pornhub。2016年纽约时装周上，Pornhub还赞助了被一些韩国组合、陈冠希、吴亦凡等偶像推崇的潮牌——Hood By Air的2017春夏系列。
而在去年11月24日，黑五那天，Pornhub在纽约SoHo开了一家年满18岁才能入内的快闪店。出售一系列街头服饰、书籍、成人玩具。据说那天排队的长龙已经到了两个街区之外......
但就因为Pornhub允许第三方和用户自己上传小视频，在版权处理的问题上，Pornhub和X-Art有着完全不同的态度。
美版知乎Quora上有人问过“色情网站如何赚足够的钱来支付服务器和带宽？”的问题，拥有“成人电影演员”身份认证的用户Siri是这样回答的：
所有色情网站都是通过广告赚钱的：先提供一定量的免费内容来吸引一部分流量，然后内容会被他们分发到其他成人网站，能有一个或者更多人会买下完整的视频，流量就能转换为销售额。 但是当色情网站意识到无论上传的是合法还是盗版内容，都可以赚取大笔广告费时，它们就开始变得贪婪了。网站上免费的内容越多，不论其中有多少盗版，网站的收入都会随之变高，这对网站主来说是十分有利可图的。利益面前，他们根本没有不让用户上传盗版内容的理由。 他们很自然地提供盗版内容，同时假装根本不知道自己网站上有盗版内容。
这里还有个不可思议的冷知识：互联网的崛起和宽带技术的进步，竟然是最先由色情需求推动的......
《纽约时报》在2000年有过报道，当年通过美国运营商AT&T开通宽带的用户中，有 20%是为了“观看在线真人性爱视频”；2003年AC尼尔森市场研究公司也在调查报告中指出，“在线音乐分享和色情消费是当时宽带在欧洲得以普及的两大最重要因素”。要知道宽带真正在全球范围内的普及是2005年以后的事了。
那时候还无需任何的附加插件。而随后用户对成人视频清晰度和流畅度的要求提高，促使了程序员们对播放软件的优化。直到Toutube时期，流媒体技术才开始被广泛应用。
在90年代中期，上网还处在需要拨号的阶段，色情网站就已经开始使用在线支付的程序。那时（1995），亚马逊也才刚刚成立。公开数据显示，1999年美国在线色情内容消费额就已经高达13亿美元，占当年在线消费总额的8%。而用户对网络支付安全的顾虑，也让色情网站在无意中打下了今天“在线信用卡交易程序”的基础。
所以现在支持你上网看视频、网购剁手的相关技术都是得益于色情网站的发展，不要感到羞耻，这没什么不好意思的。
“色情网站开发了各种各样的网上销售模式，比如交月租、为继续浏览支付额外费用等，在当时，“按次计费”几乎成了成人网站的同义词。当色情网站推出不同花样的商业模式后，其他行业才赶紧赶慢地跟上。”
为了让你安心看片，色情网站们原来都这么努力。而内容分发和大文娱等概念火热的当下，主流内容创作者和流媒体从业者们真的要加加油了。
