Wynn Palace Shanghai Cabaret Production Partner

Hong Kong-listed Wynn Macao Ltd announced a partnership with Shanghai-based Cabaret Candor for temporary production at its Wynn Palace casino resort in Cotai.

An adult-only cabaret-style show, titled "Welcome to Babylon," will premiere at the Winn Palace Entertainment Event Marquee on July 19. It will be available to watch three consecutive episodes on Fridays, Saturdays, and weekends.

Through this new partnership, Wynn Macau Inc. "We continue to introduce Macau residents and tourists around the world to diverse and culturally enjoyable experiences to support the development of the Macau SAR government's '1+4' appropriate diversification development strategy and non-gaming sector," the company said in a press release on Thursday.

As part of the Macau government's bidding process for a new 10-year gaming concession, bidders were asked to make plans and commit investments on a number of issues, including attracting more non-game attractions.

Wynn Macao Ltd. has committed to spending at least MOP17.7 billion (US$2.2 billion) during the Macau concession period 2023-2032. Of this, MOP16.5 billion (about 93.2%) is for the expansion of international markets and out-of-game investments.

The Wynn Macao Ltd cabaret production means the large, if temporary, cabaret show has returned to the city's casino complex.

Competitor Melco Resorts & Entertainment Ltd. hosted the city of Dreams resort, a resident cabaret show called Taboo for mature audiences. The show ran from April 2013 to March 2016, when Taboo closed, Melco Resorts said it was a "temporary shutdown."
