Monofilament synthetic fibers can be woven very precisely to create industrial textiles with narrow pore distribution. This precision weaving process creates fine mesh woven fabrics with apertures (hole sizes) as small as 50 micron.
The construction of plastic cloth is determined by the yarn type, yarn size and thread count. Monofilament yarns are a single continuous filament which produces a relatively smooth surface. In plain weave constructions the straight-through pores of monofilament fabrics offer minimal flow restriction and surface loading of particles.
These versatile precision woven fabrics meet stringent technical requirements in automotive, biomedical, chemical processing, and water treatment applications. Common applications include insert-molded filters for air and fuel filter cartridges, fuel injector nozzles, and liquid filter bags. As you can see, Woven Mesh is commonly used for Filtration applications.
Thread Count of a fabric refers to the number of threads per inch. Warp threads run lengthwise in a fabric. Weft or filling threads run across the width of a fabric at right angles to the warp. Since monofilament fabrics are produced with equal yarn diameters and equal thread counts in both the warp and weft directions, the mesh opening is square. Choose from a wide range of plastic mesh sizes made from Nylon , Polyester or Polypropylene .
Note: Woven Plastic Mesh is typically shipped in roll form wound on cores to prevent creases. Occasional flaws that can affect the continuous roll length are inherent in the weaving process. Excessive handling can increase static that entraps random particles. The yarns used in the manufacture of these products are not officially FDA approved but they are virgin, raw materials that are suitable for food contact.

NWP manufactures a woven nylon tape construction. This item is available in 5/8”, ¾” and 1” in our stock, ready to ship inventory. The rolls are on put ups of 200 yards each and the case pack is 4,000 yards. We stock black. Other widths can be made to order with low minimums. We also offer colors on a made to order basis. You can refer to our Style # 477 (Heavy Weight) for color selections that are available to be woven in the 277 nylon grosgrain weave.

Nylon woven grosgrain tape is mildew resistant and has a low stretch. Nylon grosgrain tape is typically used to bind and finish edges in carriers, bags, computer cases and wallets. It is also used in the medical industry for binding Xray aprons and other applications where ease of cleaning is required. It is great for use in damp conditions. Nylon grosgrain woven tape may be used in many applications.
