I went through so many feelings reading these books. It was warming my heart one minute and breaking it the next. And, oh, the hotness! These were well-written, and you could feel the chemistry between the Luke and Vance. I just hated that it seemed like Vance did all the giving in the relationship. I definitely fell more in love with them as a couple in Adore, though. Vance is swoon-worthy. He was so sweet and giving and understanding. He oozed love for everyone, but particularly Luke. When he felt broken by Luke, I felt it, too. When he was happy, I was happy. He was just one of those contagious characters that infects you with his emotions. Luke... Sometimes my heart hurt so bad for him. Other times, I wanted to throat-punch him. I get how difficult his situation was, but he needs to learn the 3 Cs of Success: Communication, Communication, Communication. Bottling everything up was destroying him and, in turn, destroying Vance. It was wrecking me, and I'm so glad he finally got over some of his internalizing. While a part of me liked the whole "years later and you're still the one" aspect of the story, another part didn't like the huge gaps in time in the first book. It made the book feel like it dragged for a bit. Also, there were some things I felt never got fully developed or addressed, especially in regards to the art. *If Vance knew Luke bought his painting, why did he never bring it up to Luke or ask where it was? *Whose paintings were in the attic of the townhouse Vance was staying in? *Did Luke ever find out Vance raged on that room? They're little questions, but I kept waiting to find out and never did. Overall, these books made for good reading. They held my attention and left me unable to put them down. I enjoy Mrs. James' writing, and I definitely look forward to what she creates next.
This duet! Truly outstanding characters and writing by Ella James in this series. I loved everything about this two book series and was even more excited to learn there will a third book coming out soon! The storyline is so heartbreakingly beautiful, reading about these characters over the years as they circled each other was the best kind of anguish. Wonderful writing, wonderful characters, wonderful storyline. Don't hesitate! Read this series immediately!
I loved these two books! There were moments I worried about getting a HEA, but I shouldn’t have. Luke and Vance were made for each other. No matter how much time passed, they always ended up back to each other. They were smoking hot together with a deep emotional connection too. I very much recommend this book!
I loved this book so much. Luke and Vance are characters that really are so well writen and so lovable. The book took longer to read because sometimes I had to many emotions and had to stop for few hours.
This is a very interesting and emotional piece of art. James writs with such dep knowledge and caring of love between men. I worship and adore the writing.

Luke is his savior, transporting him to safety. Their fiery attraction from the start causes them to have a night of smoking hot passion. They can't get enough of each other and it leaves them wanting more. But circumstances and secrets separate them, not knowing anything about each other, including their names. Later, when Vance finds out who Luke really is, he can't help but try to find out more about him. Soon he sends Luke private messages and they reconnect across the miles. Their clandestine connection is filled with indecision, want, guilt, and passion. Both Vance and Luke are wonderfully intriguing and so complex. I loved the flashback moments that reveal Luke's early years, helping us to understand him more. The ending of this steamy story left me stunned, and needing more! I can't wait to find out what happens next with Vance and Luke in Adore! ~ Adore (On My Knees Duet #2) I could not wait to continue reading more about Vance and Luke's forbidden love story after the way James left them as they met again at Evermore Church. Luke is not happy that Vance is in town to paint a mural for the church. It was so much easier to hide his true feelings when Vance was across the country. He has so much to lose if he were to give in to his true feelings. Vance is more open and confident in who he is. He tries to help Luke, but he is afraid he will be the broken one in the end. I loved how James slowly brought out the joys, and struggles of their relationship. It was so heartrending at times, taking my breath away, then it was sweet and tender, mixing in with their smoking hot passion. They were complete opposites but complimented each other so perfectly. But mostly their amazing story demonstrated the healing power of loyal friendship, and unconditional love. Don't miss this spellbinding and steamy love story!
Wow. Just, wow. I did not expect the book to be this good. I somehow thought it was going to be another typical m/m romance, but it was so much more than that. This was an emotional roller-coaster for me, I cried throughout the book, but especially about 100 pages from the end - bawled like a baby. It was written so well, with beautiful imagery. Phrases like "his eyes screamed the words my ears ached to hear" and "this tangled knot between us felt tangible", my word, I love how this author writes. I will look up more books from this author. Vance is such a wonderful character and I loved the parts from his pov the most. So glad there was a HEA, even though I don't feel ready to let these characters go yet.
I absolutely adored this story, omg I usually don’t like Overly emotional stories but this one was so friggin perfect
