A SCHOOL teacher who the internet declared the “world’s hottest mom” has spoken about adjusting to having “so many eyes on her”.
Joleen Diaz, a 43-year-old San Franciscan, shot to fame on Instagram after stunning people with her youthful appearance.
Speaking to Fox News , Joleen revealed how she grew up as a tomboy, how she was coping with her new found fame — and why being an elementary school teacher helps.
Explaining how it all started, she said: “It actually started [when] my daughter posted this social media video that all the kids were doing about hot moms.
“I think that’s how the name got started.”
But her 101,000 Instagram followers seem to adore her, she was quick to point out that “there are a lot of hot moms out there”.
She said: “I think for me the best part that I’ve experienced the past couple of weeks is meeting so many new people from around the world.
Along with her daughter, she was “shocked”.
She said: “It happened super quick. Kind of, like, within two days. She’s happy. She thinks it’s really cool.
“It took awhile for me to adjust to all of it. I’m not really used to [the attention].”
Diaz said she was not always a “hot mom," though.
Growing up in Guam, she admitted she was a “tomboy”.
She said: “I was the scrawny kid with the scraggly hair.
“I don’t wake up looking put together and I don’t go to bed looking that great either.”
“I would tell a woman to just find confidence and beauty in herself. Find something about herself that she loves and focus on that because there’s something inside all of us that we can find and love and build our self-confidence on.”
