GS Caltex, a women's professional volleyball team, will end its eight-year association with coach Sang-Hyun Cha with the end of the 2023-2024 season.

GS Caltex announced on the 15th, “We discussed the future of the club with coach Sang-Hyun Cha, who led the team for a long time and brought GS Caltex to the ranks of strong teams, and after much consideration for each other’s development, we decided not to renew the contract.”

Coach Cha began his career as a professional coach by taking over as head coach of GS Caltex during the season in December 2016. Based on his unique communication skills and strong charisma, he received great trust from players and led change by incorporating young and dynamic speed volleyball into GS Caltex.

He has won five championships, including one GS Caltex V-League combined championship and four cup championships. In particular, in the 2020-2021 season, she achieved the feat of winning the treble (cup tournament, regular league, and championship game) for the first time in women's professional volleyball.
