As much as we love this male reproductive organ, an initial encounter with one can spark some mixed emotions. First off, if you're in the presence of one, it's very likely you're about to participate in some exciting sexy time. Score. But since his package can come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, it's totally normal to have a few thoughts on the status of his junk before it all goes down. Here, 10 things you've definitely thought after catching a glimpse of his man-parts.
1. "Woah, I definitely should not have judged this guy on his height." Surprise—it's huge! You did not see that one coming.
2. "Score—he's a manscaper!" You're not afraid of a little fuzz, but it's definitely more enjoyable if you don't have to maneuver around those hairs.
3. "Hmm, I've never seen that kind of curve before." Like snowflakes, fingerprints, and Beyoncé's hairstyles, no two penises are exactly alike—except maybe ones belonging to identical twins. Note to self: Google that later.
4. "It kind of looks like one of those wrinkly dogs." Turns out, this guy is uncircumcised and is hiding a tiny pug in his pants.
5. "It looks like he's a shower, not a grower." He has all his cards on the table, and you're not mad about it.
6. "Is that an ingrown hair, or..." Oh, man, looks like it's time for the STD talk. Better safe than sorry.
7. "OMG, this might be a genuine micropenis!" You've only read about these extremely rare peens , and now that you're face-to-face with one, you feel like you've won a sexual treasure hunt. Hopefully your prize is mind-blowing oral.
8. "Would it be weird if I named it?" Obviously it's his property—but you can't help but feel a little territorial about the thing that's going to get so well acquainted with your lady-parts.
9. "Where else has this been?" If his member could talk, you would ask it about all the locations it's explored. Hey, you're just curious. Unfortunately, you'll just have to ask your partner.
10. "Let's test this baby out." Now that you're done inspecting the goods, it’s time to take him for a test drive.

Just like vaginas, penises come in all shapes and sizes. While stereotypes will tell you that “bigger is better,” it can be kind of alarming when you come face to face (er, crotch to crotch?) with an oversized penis .
“Bigger is not always better—that idea is absurd,” says Jessica O’Reilly, Ph.D., host of the @SexWithDrJess Podcast.
That doesn’t mean you should write a guy off because he has a big penis, or assume that your sex life is screwed—you just have to get a little creative. There are a few basic truths to keep in mind when it comes to having sex with a bigger guy. Lots of lube is crucial, says Rachel Needle, Psy.D., a sex therapist and licensed psychologist at the Center for Marital and Sexual Health of South Florida.
It’s also important to take it slow and use plenty of foreplay so you’re ready by the time you move on to P-in-V action, says sex therapist Debra Laino , D.H.S.
Of course, sex positions matter, too. That’s why we got experts to share their top positions to try when your partner is bigger down there.
You want to avoid deep penetration , which is why Needle recommends this move: Have your guy lie down on his back and straddle him, facing his toes. Then, lower yourself so that you’re lying on top of him, with your back against his chest, and have him enter you that way
Ask your partner to sit down in a chair or on the edge of the bed, and straddle him while facing him. “This allows you to control the pace and how deep he penetrates you,” Needle says.
Have your partner sit on his butt with his legs bent in front of him. Then, sit the same way while facing him, and scoot yourself forward until your legs are intertwined. Have your partner enter you from here. Since you’re on top, you can control the rhythm and how deep he gets. Plus, the padding from his thighs and your butt create a barrier to prevent him from getting too deep, O’Reilly says. And, it’s hot. “This is erotic for many—they have direct eye contact as they are sitting at the same level,” Laino says.
Think of the spoon position, but opposite. “Lie on your sides, facing one another, and slide on in,” O’Reilly says. “This position tends to facilitate shallow penetration and leaves lots of space for kissing, stroking, and clitoral rubbing.”
O’Reilly calls this her favorite position: Lie down on your stomach, and have your partner lie down on top of you and slide in from behind. You can reach back and wrap your hand around his shaft to help control how deep he gets or change up the angle of your butt for the same effect.

So, you want to know the answer to the age-old question: "Does size really matter?"

It's a topic that's been debated by scientists, therapists and divorce attorneys alike. There have been legitimate studies dedicated to getting to the bottom of this issue, all for the sake of men's egos everywhere. In a 2014 poll , a promising 84% of ladies reported they were more than satisfied with their man's member. What does that mean for the other 16%?
Well, that's hard to say, especially since "all men and women have a different perspective on how much [penis size] matters and what the proper size constitutes," says Jenni Skyler, a certified sex therapist, sexologist, and licensed marriage and family therapist for AdamEve.com .
When it comes to exact numbers, we're looking at 2.8 to 3.9 inches as the average flaccid length, with the average penis being 4.7 to 6.3 inches in length. As for average erect circumference, that's 4.7 inches.
But even with statistics, Skyler points out that "some men and their partners fit together well and some don’t."
"Some women find a smaller fit feels great but larger men are uncomfortable," she notes. "Others find that smaller men just don’t fill them up and they really enjoy the larger size. For the most part, men who are in the average range will do just fine. Men on the extreme ends of very large or very small will have to find a partner who fits well with their size."
When it comes to the how you measure up down below, being average ain't all that bad. In fact, Skyler says "men on the extreme ends of very large or very small will have to find a partner who fits well with their size."

To find out once and for all whether the meat matters more than the motion, we went straight to the source. AskMen spoke with 16 ladies for their honest take — straight up, no chaser. Here's what they had to say about their ideal penis proportion .

A survey has revealed how likely a woman is to reach climax based on penis size - and it seems to suggest that bigger isn't always better
It's a question that's been batted about for as long as anyone can remember.
Some women will straight up tell you it does - while others claim they don't have a preference.
But it seems we might finally have an answer to the question, thanks to some new research.
Thousands of women participated in a new survey which aimed to find out the penis size of their last sexual partner - and how satisfied they'd been with the performance in bed (i.e. whether or not they were able to orgasm).
The study was carried out by Big One Dating and the results are very interesting.
The responses from those who took part varied, but the findings show that women (44 percent) were most satisfied if their partner had a penis measuring eight inches.
Following this, 39 percent of those surveyed reached climax through penetration with a 10-inch penis.
But it seems bigger might not always be better, as the same amount of women reported reaching climax with a man who had an 11-inch member and those who had one four-inches long.
One of the women who participated in the research said they felt that size wasn't everything.
"Penis size is important, but knowing how to work it and wanting to please her trumps over anything else."
Another commented: "Size does help but you definitely need to know how to use it. Plenty of wasted big d**k out there."
A third added that they thought girth was the most important aspect, saying: "I prefer penises that are thick and long. However, I do value girth over length."
According to the NHS, most men's penises are around 3.75 inches when not erect, with the average erect penis size being between five and seven inches.
However the study shows that eight could be the magic number when it comes to inches.
So what can you do if you're not feeling confident about your size?
Professor Kevan Wylie, a sexual medicine consultant shared his top tips with the NHS.
He recommends getting fit as general body confidence may help improve your outlook.
"Getting into shape will not only make you feel more attractive, it could also improve your sex life," he said. "A beer belly hanging over your penis can make your penis look smaller."
The expert also suggested trimming pubic hair.
"A big mound of pubic hair can make your penis look smaller than it is," he added.
