What makes a penis attractive? Not sure? Well, don't rely on your opinion to answer that question — science has the answer.
A new survey, published yesterday (July 23) in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, aimed to find out which qualities women consider most carefully when deciding whether a penis is attractive. Researchers from the University of Zurich in Switzerland first asked a group of 105 women, ranging in age from 16 to 45, to look at pictures of male genitalia and rate how "normal looking" they found each penis to be.
Next, the penis oglers answered questions about which penile qualities they considered most important when assessing the attractiveness of a man's package. Specifically, subjects were asked to rate the following attributes in order of importance: length of the penis, girth of the penis , position and shape of the meatus (the opening where certain fluids come out), shape of the glans (the rounded tip or head of the penis), appearance of the scrotum, appearance of the skin on the penis, appearance of pubic hair and the overall cosmetic appearance of the penis. Which of these qualities were most important to women? Perhaps not surprisingly, the position and shape of a man's meatus didn't matter much to the ladies. Almost as insignificant was the appearance of the scrotum, the researchers found. However, you might be surprised to learn that the third least important penis quality was length . That's right, fellas — it's not the size of the boat that matters.
So, what penile qualities do women care about? It turns out that ladies are looking for the total package, so to speak. Survey participants ranked the overall cosmetic appearance of a penis to be the most important quality they consider when assessing a man's genitals. But more specifically, they cared about hair — pubic hair, that is. The survey found that the appearance of body hair was the second-most important quality that women consider. Tied for third were girth and the appearance of penis skin, followed by the shape of the tip.
But besides answering a long-debated question, the penis assessment survey also had a scientific purpose: It was conducted to inform doctors who work with male patients with a condition known as hypospadias , in which the urethral opening of the penis (the aforementioned meatus) is located on the underside of the penis, instead of on the tip. Men who undergo surgery to correct this condition often report feeling that their penises look abnormal, even though health professionals tend to report that their patients' surgically altered penises look just fine.
As part of the survey, women were shown pictures of circumcised penises that were otherwise unaltered, as well as penises that had undergone surgery to correct hypospadias. The researchers found that, overall, women thought that the surgically altered penises looked just as normal as penises that hadn't undergone hypospadias surgery.

I was wondering about how girls 'look' at a guys penis.
How and when do you look at a guy's penis? I mean, once you are introduced to a new guy, do you take a look at his bulge as part of checking him out??
Or only when you feel a guy is sexy...or maybe when there is a romantic interest??

Sure do. I didn't until I hit puberty, but then I caught myself checking the fellahs. Less so now that I have a man in residence and regular sex, but even so I catch my eyes flickering down there for a sec, especially if he's attractive.
Ok so this answer is per what my wife said to the question. She said "Every chance I get!" But she says that refers to my manhood. She did say that if it's overly obvious like in a movie and a guy is wearing a banana hammock, then yes. But she loves to see mine when it's out. She's particularly fond of it when I have been soaking in a hot bath and I stand up. Cause of the dripping wet and plump aspect from soaking in the hot water. I will look if it seems bigger than the average bear (this will tell how old you and I are) and.....possibly if I'm sitting and you're walking towards me and there's no where else for my eyes to fall I AM going to look.
Women are also aware of the term 'showers and growers' so it doesn't matter much till you meet it in person.

This Is What The Perfect Penis Looks Like, According To Women

At last, science has come up with a study we can get behind. The study, published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine , is entitled "What is a Good Looking Penis ?" But the study itself focuses on a particular type of penis : men with surgically corrected Hypospadias.
Hypospadias is when a man's urethral opening is not in the normal position at the top of the penis. Researchers wanted to find out what penile aspects were important to women, and whether they thought men who had undergone the surgery to correct the Hypospadias had weird-looking penises .
The researchers asked 105 women to rate the importance of eight penile qualities on a 5-point scale, ranging from very unimportant (1) to extremely important (5). These qualities included length, girth, position and shape of urinary opening, known as the meatus . Researchers also asked about the shape of glans and penile skin, scrotum, pubic hair, and general "cosmetic" appearance.
No one is really sure what they meant by "cosmetic appearance", but I'm going to guess it was the overall look of the penis (as if the penises were in a kind of beauty pagent — but without the talent or bathing suit portions).
The findings weren't really surprising , and suggested that women find general cosmetic the most important aspect, maybe because it was the one aspect most open to interpretation. The position and shape of the meatus were considered the least important aspect of penile appearance.
Contrary to the cliche about size, length was only rated as the sixth most important aspect, girth was rated third, and pubic hair was rated second. However, the study was so small that it's difficult to generalize the findings.
Overall, when trying to figure out what makes a good-looking penis , researchers found that there was no single penile aspect that was essential.
I guess we're going to have to have a "Best Looking Penis" contest of our own.
