Ooookay, this really did not do it for me. Where do I begin? The description says "BDSM erotica," but most of this story was pure rape porn. I mean, the girl sees her father burned at the stake, then the man who ordered it done has her tied to the rack before giving her the choice of marrying him or being killed - with her sister's life hanging in the balance as well. If that scenario gets you hot, you might enjoy this. Me, I was rooting for her to go all Inigo Montoya on the psychotic bastard. Of

If that scenario gets you hot, you might enjoy this. Me, I was rooting for her to go all Inigo Montoya on the psychotic bastard. Of course, that's not how it unfolds, and by the end of the story, she's head-over-heels in love with the murdering rapist who's offering to put her in the Iron Maiden next time. Never mind that there's no hint of her ever enjoying the pain, even after her conversion; it's just that losing her virginity feels so good that it blocks it out. She's never even fantasized about being abused before, but one night turns her into an adoring submissive who's willing to do whatever the man who burned her father alive as she watched wants her to. No. Just...no. Hell to the NOPE. They don't make suspenders strong enough to hold this amount of disbelief. On top of that, while the prose is generally competent, the author literally does not know the difference between revulsion and a revolution. That's only one of the howlers in this mockery of a BDSM story. I'll grant that about halfway through the scene, after she gets into it and hits subspace, there's some pretty good material. Unfortunately, the damage is already done by then. She is a completely unrealistic character who behaves incomprehensibly, and that's one thing I cannot forgive. I almost rated this two stars for the decent grammar and the part of the story that takes place after she becomes a willing participant, but it's too little and far too late. Call it a 1.5, but only because it could conceivably have been even worse.
