HYDERABAD: It is back to the dark ages for women at the 40-year-old Smt Durgabai Deshmukh Women's Technical Training Institute at Ameerpet that does not have a single 'functional' toilet on campus. Result: All the 476 girls studying at the government-run institute are forced to make a dash for the college field, terrace or an 'abandoned' classroom, each time they need to relieve themselves. In the name of privacy, all they have is a thin 'dupatta' that friends encircling them hold on to.
When reporters visited the campus recently, the stench on the premises was hard to miss. While women studying there confessed to the 'serious problem' of unclean, unhygienic toilets they also said how they have, by now, recoiled to their fate. "We are adjusting by peeing wherever we can," a student candidly shared. Repeated complaints to the principal, she said, had failed to yield any result."
While M Nagaraj, a former head of department of architecture from the college in November last year shot a letter to the Telangana chief minister, K Chandrasekhar Rao, and the state women and child welfare department, he too is yet to receive a response. In the letter, he stated: "The toilets in the institution are untidy. Neither are they cleaned regularly nor are there any proper facilities. The girl students of the institution are facing much difficulty while using the toilets".
Adding to misery of students are the heaps of garbage lying unattended at multiple corners within the college. Such is the situation that students now find it tough to concentrate in class, courtesy the unbearable stink.
When contacted, college principal Suresh Janga said that condition of the toilets had deteriorated over time due to the lack of maintenance. "We are forced to live here. The present building is just a temporary arrangement. The toilets that we have are abandoned. Since the building will be dismantled, we cannot repair it," said Janga.
According to him a new building is under construction right behind the present campus though its completion is uncertain due to the "lack of government funds".
Sanitation apart, the institute that offers four diploma courses -- architecture assistantship, civil engineering, computer engineering and electronics and communications engineering - is also plagued by the absence of labs and equipment.
"All the lab equipment purchased is misused because there are no proper entries made in the stock register. The computers in the institution are not fully equipped. Some of the parts are damaged. They are neither repaired nor replaced," stated Nagaraj in his letter to the chief minister.
Students and faculty hope that their concerns are paid heed to by the state authorities at the earliest.

”I’m actually peeing in that photo, she has no idea. No clue,“ actress tells late-night host James Corden
That Jennifer Lawrence — she’s quite the whiz kid.
“The Hunger Games” star appeared on CBS’ “The Late Late Show With James Corden” on Tuesday and shared a heartwarming family anecdote — about how she shot a photo with her mother while urinating.
The photo depicts Lawrence’s mother lounging with a wine glass in her hand, while her daughter smiles and squats behind her in a seemingly innocent pose.
“I’m actually peeing in that photo, she has no idea. No clue,” Lawrence shared.
“I went to pee, and then my friend got the phone because she knew I was peeing, and then we both decided to leave my mom out of it,” Lawrence continued.
Informed by host Corden that she has “a very relaxed peeing face,” Lawrence noted, “Yeah, I know how to do it. I’ve done it a lot.”
Watch Lawrence go with the flow in the video.
Sadly, numerous female celebrities have been attacked by hackers, who stole personal information as well as sexually explicit photos from their phones and computers.
Jones is the latest victim of nude photo hackers, with her personal website being vandalized and several explicit photos posted before the site was taken down
The Department of Homeland Security has opened an investigation into the hack, which many believe was perpetrated by a fan of former Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos , who was banned from Twitter after his "targeted abuse" of the comedian.
"The Avengers" star has been the victim of hackers multiple times. Nude photos of the actress were released online in 2011 and again in the massive 2014 hack .
The perpetrator in the 2011 incident was eventually sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Lawrence was among the most high-profile victims of the 2014 hack. She came out strongly against those who viewed the pictures, saying doing so was "a sex crime."
"The Big Bang Theory" star was also caught up in the 2014 hack, and took it in stride with a cheeky Instagram post .
The 2014 hack immediately drew the attention of the FBI, which began investigating the event that claimed over 100 victims, most of them celebrities.
Pennsylvania resident Ryan Collins was eventually captured and charged with illegally accessing the Google and Apple accounts of numerous celebrities, though their identities weren't made public.
Collins eventually pleaded guilty to one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer to obtain information, receiving an 18-month prison sentence in the plea deal.
Collins was not the only one charged in the hack. Edward Majerczyk of Chicago was also arrested in connection with the data breach.
Majerczyk faced the same charge as Collins: one count of unauthorized access to a protected computer.
Majerczyk pleaded guilty to the charge in July 2016. The maximum sentence for the charge of unauthorized access to a protected computer is five years.
In January 2017, Majerczyk received a sentence of nine months in jail as part of a plea deal. Majerczyk also was ordered to pay $5,700 in restitution for counseling services for one unnamed celebrity because of the harm caused by the hack.
WWE Divas star Paige stated on Twitter that "personal and private" photos of her had been stolen and leaked online in March 2017. The leak is possibly part of a reportedly larger hack affecting several celebrity women. Like other victims of the apparent larger leak, photos of Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, appeared on the website Celebrity Jihad.
Some of the most infamous breaches of sensitive celebrity data — and what happened to the perpetrators
Sadly, numerous female celebrities have been attacked by hackers, who stole personal information as well as sexually explicit photos from their phones and computers.
”There’s only one me, bro,“ the ”Aquaman“ star tells TheWrap
While Marvel and DC fans have been going at each other for decades, “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa doesn’t see a need to pick sides.
When TheWrap asked the actor about the competition between Marvel and DC on the big screen while attending the red carpet for Season 3 of Momoa’s Apple TV+ series “See,” he pointed out that both bring something different to the table.
“I don’t think Marvel has an Aquaman and we don’t have a Guardians of the Galaxy, we don’t have a Thor,” Momoa said. “I think we should just enjoy the movies that we all worked so hard to make. I look at Robert Downey and Hemsworth’s amazing, they’re just my brothers out there making great content. So I don’t really compare, myself. There’s only one me, bro.”
Momoa made his DC debut as Aquaman (aka Arthur Curry) with a cameo in 2016’s “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,” which was followed by his own solo film in 2018 from director James Wan. “Aquaman” still stands as the highest-grossing movie of the DC Cinematic Universe so far, and Momoa reprises the role in the sequel “Aqaman and the Lost Kingdom” next May.
The follow-up finds much of the original cast – including Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II – reprising their roles, with Ben Affleck also making an appearance as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
While the Marvel Cinematic Universe got off the ground fairly smoothly, solidifying itself as a well-oiled machine by the time they got to 2012’s “The Avengers,” the interconnected universe of DC films has had a tougher time taking liftoff. Originally, the “DCEU” as it’s called was being shepherded by Zack Snyder, but after the disappointing critical and commercial performance of “Batman v. Superman,” the production of Snyder’s team-up movie “Justice League” went south, resulting in him being replaced as director and eventually releasing his (far superior) “Snyder Cut” on HBO Max years later.
That’s not to say DC hasn’t been without its bright spots, “Aquaman” among them. “Wonder Woman” was also acclaimed and well-received at the box office, and “Guardians of the Galaxy” writer/director James Gunn’s 2021 film “The Suicide Squad” was well-received also. And just this year, director Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson rebooted the Caped Crusader in the hit “The Batman,” for which a sequel is currently in active development.
So yes, there are differences between the Marvel and DC cinematic universes, but as Momoa maintains, the best course of action for fans at this point is to simply enjoy the movies as they come.
