The footage shows the dancer getting into position in a headstand and raising her legs into the air before the horror accident, believed to have occurred in Jamaica
A HORRIFYING video has surfaced appearing to show a woman breaking her neck while twerking.
The footage shows a female dancer getting into a handstand position in the middle of a crowd.
Pumping music can be heard in the background as the woman prepares to begin her performance.
The crowd cheer her on as she raises her legs above her head with her full weight seemingly on her forehead.
Her back is arched with her bottom stuck out over her head as she raises her legs up in the air.
As she starts to twerk her body weight is shifted around before she loses her balance and begins to fall backwards.
In harrowing scenes, that The Sun has chosen not to show, her neck can be seen to snap as her body goes limp and crashes to the floor.
Screams from horrified onlookers ring out through the dance hall as panic ensues and people run for help.
The video appeared online earlier this month with several sites reporting that it was shot in Jamaica.
It is not known if the dancer in question survived but some reports indicate she may have, but has been paralysed.
Several commenters have urged people to pray for the girl.
This shocking accident comes just days after a body builder in South Africa was filmed breaking his neck after attempting a back flip that went horribly wrong.

A Jamaican lady in the video that is fast trending on social media broke her neck at the club while twerking in the air.
She lifts her legs into the air and as soon as she feels she’s found her balance, she raises her legs higher and begins to twerk until she rolled over and her neck snapped painfully. It is not known if she survived the incident
This should serve as a warning to the ladies that has the myopic ideologies that being able to twerk is what makes you a s3xy lady. Too much of everything is a recipe for chaos.
