Sorry for the stupid title. Anyway, I haven't played WoW. Because it was subscription-based and we aren't the kind of family that'd spend large sums of money on games,
But I felt a bit nostalgic and wanted to give it a try. Thanks to this reddit, I discovered the Elysium Server and I absolutely love it. It's great! It's trying as closely as possible to be Blizzard-like.
Now, I was curious if there was a server similar to that with the latest expansion (Battle for Azeroth). Is the Firestorm server on this reddit similar?

Play a MOP-server, retail is exactly the same since cata/mop except for that it gets worse every expension
Anything after pop is too unenjoyable and buggy
Private servers Draenor to current tend to be low popped and poorly scripted. You can probably do a Pandaria server, but I personally can't think of one but they do exist
Tauri is MoP. If you're looking for a new expansion, there aren’t many options. From what I heard (wowfreakz), and saw (firestorm), the BFA options available aren't very good.
I have no idea why you were downvoted... you are 100% right doing a few odd jobs to earn enough money to play retail is the right way to go if you want the current experience.
