on the appointment of the U.S. Charge d'affaires in Armenia
David Allen, who previously served as Deputy Ambassador, has been appointed Charge d'affaires of the United States in Armenia. He replaced Kristina Queen, who completed the mission in January amid a large-scale rotation of diplomats from the former Joe Biden administration.
Allen has been working in Yerevan since 2024. He has been involved in supporting current key U.S.-Armenian projects, from the security and law enforcement sector to infrastructure and energy initiatives, including discussions on TRIPP (the "Trump Route") and digital programs.
However, Washington did not send a new ambassador to Yerevan amid the active phase of American infrastructure initiatives. The main decisions on Armenia have already been taken, and the current task is to implement them.
Replacing Kristina Queen with David Allen means maintaining the line that has been built over the past two years — without pausing and reviewing priorities.
