The Witcher 3's Geralt is a gaming (and Netflix) icon, so it is only natural the Witcher has inspired some great cosplay over the years.

It is unanimously agreed upon by the majority of the gaming community that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not only one of the best open-world games ever but one of the best games period. Beautiful visuals, intense yet fantastic gameplay and combat, well-written story missions that are unique in their own ways, and a plethora of other features make it a video game of legendary status that any gamer worth his two-cents is bound to enjoy.
The franchise has proved famous enough to get a Netflix series of its own starring Man of Steel actor Henry Cavill. A big reason behind the popularity of the games is their solid, bad-ass, fantasy monster-slaying protagonist, Geralt of Rivia. He has grown into one of the most popular video game characters in recent times, and with that popularity comes a variety of cosplays featuring the character.
Witchers aren't really known for their first-rate dancing skills, but this cosplay featuring Geralt and Shani does paint the picture of a lovely atmosphere. Yennefer of Vengerberg and Triss Merigold are the two main romance options open for Geralt in The Witcher 3, but there are many other women present in the games with whom the player can romance.
One of them is Shani, a medic who is missing from the main The Witcher 3 game but can be found in the Hearts of Stone DLC.
Yennefer is commonly accepted as the main love of Geralt's life, and Ciri is like their surrogate daughter. The three of them don't exactly fit into the mold of a traditional family, but they do care deeply about each other.
Triss is a close friend to them. While in the games the four of them never got together for Christmas dinner as shown in the cosplay, it is certainly interesting to imagine this rough and tough group of people in such a wholesome situation.
The "mutagens" and experiments that were forced on to Geralt to morph him into a Witcher physically altered him in many ways, namely making his hair white permanently and giving him inhumane levels of stamina, speed, and strength. He can survive hits that would kill a normal human being, but is not invincible and thus can be seen wearing armor at all times in the games.
Geralt's most iconic outfit is his chainmail armor, which can be clearly deduced to be the prime focus of this well-crafted cosplay.
Geralt quite literally has the title of "white wolf" in his name. Even besides that, he has always been somewhat of a lone wolf, traveling the land of known and unknown regions hunting down monsters all by himself.
Yet, every now and then Geralt finds himself in the company of others, be it by choice or not. The group of cosplayers featured in the picture look ready and willing to head into battle at any moment, which is indeed an appropriate look for Geralt and his fellow Witchers.
Two of the most important facial features of Geralt, and the most striking as well, are his eyes and battle scars. The scars are pretty self-explanatory, but the story behind his distinct piercing eyes is a tad bit longer. In the books, his eyes have never been specified to be of a color and are just mentioned to be "dark."
But in the games, they can be clearly seen to be dark amber and yellowish. This might have something to do with Geralt's "Witcher Senses" ability in the third game which allows him to view the world with superhuman senses.

The most striking part of this cosplay and the one that catches the eye first is the balanced amount of lighting. The engraving on the sword is clearly visible as well, which is a neat little feature that shows the cosplayer's exceptional dedication towards attention to detail.
In the games, Geralt's swords aren't just pieces of metal to defeat monsters, but they come with extensive histories of their own. The battle stance shows that Geralt is ready to run straight into his next fight.

Although Geralt might seem like a man of barbarian nature who always works in brutish ways, in reality, a vital part of the game involves using his superhuman senses to track down objects, people, or enemies.
Sure, Geralt's super strength and swordsmanship have kept him alive against all those deadly beasts, but his tracking skills are indispensable as well. All of these factors combine to make Geralt the legendary Witcher that he is.

Digital alteration with software such as Photoshop can be a great way to include effects or highlights in a cosplay picture that would be impossible or difficult to do with practical effects. In this case, not only is the costume well done, but the cosplayer uses heavy editing to exhibit Geralt's magic powers.
In the game, a big portion of the combat mechanics was dependent on the player's use of various spells, both defensive and offensive in nature.

As open-world games keep getting bigger, traversing them is becoming a tougher chore. One way to combat this is for developers to give the player a travel companion, something almost all games are doing nowadays.
Geralt's horse Roach is as loyal and trustworthy as a companion can get, who will transcend the limits of space and time to teleport to the protagonist's location at a single summon. The two have faced a great many monsters together, and this full suited cosplayer on the back of his mare looks ready to do so as well.

Meditating is a very crucial feature present in all The Witcher games. It allows the player to restore Geralt's health and endurance, and it is also a good way to initiate a time-lapse (such as to go from day time to night time).
An even better in-universe explanation would be that it gives Geralt (and the player as well) a moment of peace and tranquility among all the war and fighting. This cosplay certainly sets a peaceful aesthetic befitting of a resting warrior tired from all the fights he has been in.

She looks absolutely brilliant as Triss, with that soft, enchanting look that would make us absolutely believe she's a sorceress IRL. The wig is also flaming red which works, considering the vibrance of Triss' hair in-game. Astrid has done an amazing job on this cosplay, no doubting it.
