One week with one little girl—an angel, according to my staffing agency. Acting as the short-term nanny for a single dad should have been an easy way to make some extra cash. Until I show up for my first day and face off with a demon disguised as a seven-year-old girl wearing a red tutu and matching glitter slippers. Oh, and her father? My temporary boss? Maddox Holiday. The same Maddox Holiday I crushed on in high school. The same Maddox Holiday who didn’t even know I existed. And the same Maddox Holiday who hasn’t set foot in Montana for years because he’s been too busy running his billionaire empire. Enduring seven days is going to feel like scaling the Himalayas in six-inch heels. Toss in the Holiday family’s annual soiree, and Christmas Eve nightmares really do come true. But I can do anything for a week, especially for this paycheck, even if it means wrangling the naughty, impressing the nice, and playing the nanny.

This quick and cute holiday romance sits somewhere between three and four stars for me - I liked it, but it's already fading from my memory. The light and easy feel made the story fly by, and I'm definitely interested in checking out the other two books in the series - they might make more of an impact on me. The writing style is solid and very readable. It's the kind of low angst, seasonal romance that I love to read around the holidays, but not necessarily a standout for me. The story follows Natalie, a woman who finds herself temporarily nannying for her high school crush, just in time for the holidays. She doesn't usually take short-term assignments, but this one should've been an easy gig. Except... it's not. Maddox's daughter has scared away the last several nannies with her tiny acts of terror, Maddox doesn't seem to remember Natalie at all, and she's not getting the vacation she anticipated. But once Maddox realizes who Natalie is, he starts seeing her in a completely different way. Honestly, I read this one a week or two ago and forgot to write my review immediately afterwards. And I've already forgotten a lot of the story, lol. That's never a good sign, because I typically have a pretty good memory when it comes to romance, especially if a book makes either a great or terrible impression. This one sits somewhere in the middle. I think some of the tropes included are overused and a little tired, but there was nothing major holding me back from enjoying the story. A single dad/nanny romance is a good fit for the holiday season, and the low angst feel worked. It's a quick, *almost* clean read that's easy to devour in one sitting, and I'll definitely check out more of Nash's work in the future.

The Naughty, The Nice and the Nanny is the first book in this holiday trilogy. Maddox and Natalie grew up in the same Montana town. Went to the same high school (he was three years older), but that’s where their similarities end. Maddox was the star athlete, ran with the popular kids. Natalie was a swimmer, but she was the shy, quiet, studious type. She crushed on him hard. He vaguely remembers her climbing out of a pool one day. Until she shows up at his door, as his new nanny. It takes his parents, and brothers to remind him of who she is. She is definitely not the shy, nerdy type anymore. She’s grown up really, really well. But she’s his employee. And his daughter comes first. Always. This was a cute story. As with most short stories, things move very fast. That being said, the characters are fairly well developed. You are given lots of backstory for both of them. Just not a lot of time building a relationship. Maddox was a good dad. He was clueless, but loved his daughter unconditionally. Even when she was a little terror. Natalie built a very special relationship with Violet. They shared a special connection that not many could understand. It was very sweet. And helped Violet more than anything else could have. It was a quick, easy read. Told in dual points of view. No cheating. No cliffhanger. A great epilogue with a nice HEA. While it is part of a trilogy, it can standalone. I’m looking forward to reading the twins stories.

Bozeman, Montana is a long way from LA. Small town boy made good Maddox Holiday needs a nanny for his 7 year old daughter for a week. Natalie had a crush on him in high school. At Christmas, anything can happen. 😉

This was a sweet and cute little Novella that is a part of a series of novellas for The Holiday Brothers. This is novella 1 of the series. We got to need Maddox, self made billionaire and single dad. Maddox needs a nanny due to a high turn over rate from his daughters horrendous behavior. Natalie is just the person to fill in. Except, Natalie has been harboring a secret crush on Maddox since they were in high school. Broke her heart when he didn’t initially recognize her too. They begin to bond and spend more time together as they feel the natural pull of their chemistry. I love how touched and happy it made Maddox when Natalie so as much attention to Violet (his daughter) as she did him. With their personalities fitting so well together it’s no wonder they fit. You know, until something stops them. Thank goodness Maddox stood his ground, that was hot This book has some spice, but it’s more of a cute holiday read. Would definitely recommend! Onto the next brother!

I wanted to end my year on a light and sweet note and Willa Nash came through with this fun holiday romance. Let's call this a kind of workplace romance with a side of childhood crush. Natalie is a nanny that has just been sent to a temporary last minute job. Only she doesn't realize who it's for until the man opens the door. It's is her childhood crush, Maddox Holiday. And he happens to be the proud father of a very lively 7 year old. Call me a sucker, but I enjoy romances that have kids in the storylines that help push the story forward. The story was cute, short and fun, with a few serious undertones. I liked the relationship between the characters and the Holiday family. We didn't get to dive into anything too deeply, but it was still an enjoyable read. I'm curious what the two brothers will bring next. If you want something short and not too angsty, this will surely satisfy you. A nice way to end my 2021. 3.5 stars

Sweet and a little steamy

Natalie is roped into taking a last minute, week-long nanny job over her Christmas break. She was never very good at saying no to her boss. Imagine her surprise when the client turns out to be her teenage crush, Maddox Holiday. But what’s worse is that he doesn’t even recognise her! Maddox’s daughter, Violet, is challenging to say the least, but Natalie is excellent at her job and breaks through to her very quickly. Maddox finds himself absolutely enamoured by Natalie. But he has a firm rule about crossing the line with an employee. As does Natalie about an employer. Can they fight their rapidly growing attraction? What a great little novella! The instalove was believable and their chemistry was off the charts. I love the whole Holiday family dynamic just as much as the banter within Natalie’s little family unit. Novellas like these make it easy to stay in the mood for more (I’m a mood reader so this is a big thing).

The best Christmas present!

When you need good cheer turn to Christmas and this book was a fantastic slice of holiday cheer! Natalie works as a nanny and is asked to take a last minute job before she starts a new one in the new year. When she arrives at the house it's to face her childhood crush, Maddox Holiday! His daughter Violet, has been through a lot in her seven years and Natalie knows just how to bring a smile to her face. This was a really good HEA Christmas read full of smiles and fun and great chemistry!

Festive Novella

An enjoyable Christmas novella from Willa Nash. Maddox is a single parent and Natalie a nanny, who comes to help with childcare over the festive period. A lovely and warm story, which developed nicely with the two main characters both endearing, empathetic and likeable. Their attraction and chemistry really had me charmed, and I was drawn into this couple's world completely. A thoroughly satisfying and rewarding read. This is a standalone story, but also book 1 in a series.

The Naughty, The Nice and The Nanny is a book that follows Maddox, his daughter Violet and Natalie. I felt like I instantly connected with the characters and fell in love with them so really enjoyed this book. I can’t wait to read the next one within the series 👍🏻☺️. Highly recommended, 5 stars!

^ Sources are inconsistent on the date of Cather's birth, in large part because she fabricated—or as scholar Jean Schwind says, "chronically lied about" [2] —the date. [3] [4] [5] The 1873 date is confirmed by a birth certificate, an 1874 letter of her father's referring to her, [6] university records, [7] and Cather scholarship—both modern and historical. [8] [9] [10] [11] At the direction of the staff of McClure's Magazine , Cather claimed to be born in 1875. [12] After 1920, she claimed 1876 as her birth year; this date has since been replicated in several scholarly sources. [13] [14] [15] That is the date carved into her gravestone at Jaffrey, New Hampshire . [16]

^ According to Elsie, Douglass's real name was Douglas, but Willa wanted him to spell it as Douglass , so he spelled it that way to please her. [24] [25]

^ This collection of poetry, while described as unremarkable, [52] was republished several times by Cather over her life, although with significant alterations. [53] Eleven of these poems were never again published after 1903. [54] This early experience with traditional, sentimental verse—without alteration from this scheme [55] —was the basis for the rest of her literary career; [56] she remarked that one's earliest writing is formative. [57] While Cather's success was primarily in prose, her republishing of her earliest poetry suggests she wished to be taken as a poet as well. [58] But this is contradicted by Cather's own words, where in 1925, where she wrote, "I do not take myself seriously as a poet." [54] [59]

^ Not all critics see her 1930s political views as conservative; Reynolds argues that while she was reactionary later in life, she subscribed to a form of rural populism and progressivism, built on the continuity of community, [91] and Clasen views her as a progressive. [92] Similarly, it has been suggested she was distinctly opaque, and that in terms of literary innovation, she was solidly progressive, even radical. [93] [94]
