Wicked Pictures is an American pornographic movie studio headquartered in Canoga Park , California . Between 2004 and 2021, it was one of the only heterosexual studios to maintain a condoms -only policy. [1] [2]

Steve Orenstein founded Wicked Pictures in 1993, after developing an interest in creative aspects of film production while a partner in his previous adult company, X-Citement Video. During its first year, Wicked won industry awards and Orenstein signed Chasey Lain as the first "Wicked Girl". The second Wicked Girl, Jenna Jameson , signed in 1995. Under Wicked's promotion, Jameson became the only winner of AVN Awards for Best New Starlet, Best Actress, and Best Sex Scene in the same year. [3]

Wicked won the first high-definition Adult Video News Award for Camp Cuddly Pines Powertool Massacre in December 2006. [4] The movie went on to win several AVN Awards in 2007.

In October 2010, Wicked stopped production when an actor tested positive for HIV . [5]

The studio agreed with Manwin to run its websites in December 2010. [6] In December 2020, it was announced that founder and president Steve Orenstein had sold the company to Gamma Entertainment, and that the new ownership had named Axel Braun Head of Production. [7]

Wicked Pictures joined comic fans around the world recently to celebrate DC FanDome, a first-of-its-kind, immersive global fan experience featuring exclusive reveals with their biggest stars, including Robert Pattinson’s provocative interpretation of Bruce Wayne in director Matt Reeves' eagerly anticipated 'The Batman.'

In the spirit of such festivities, and finally putting an end on months of fan speculations over what Axel Braun’s new project would be after the global success of his award-winning 'Captain Marvel XXX', Wicked is thrilled to announce that pre-production is officially underway for the next highly anticipated release in its award-winning Wicked Comix imprint - 'The Batman XXX: An Axel Braun Parody Series.'

Unfolding over eight 45-minute episodes to be released weekly on wicked.com and subsequently packaged on Blu-ray as a continuous-storyline 6-hour season, it will be the parody master’s first-ever series.

“This will be a full reboot,” says Braun, who notoriously created his own interconnected superhero parody universe. “I am recasting all roles, and the series will live independently from all the events of my future and previous standalone feature projects in the DC AxelVerse. That will allow me an opportunity to showcase many of the new talented performers in the industry, and to bring a fresh perspective to the world of Gotham City.”

While the ambitious project is slated for shooting and release in 2021, Wicked is currently continuing to observe the production hold it announced in March to safeguard the health and welfare of its cast and crew from the risk of exposure to COVID-19. The many aspects of pre-production currently underway include writing, storyboarding, production design, and, of course, the designing of costumes - all informed by the same perfectionist's attention to detail that has made Braun the most awarded director in porn history.

While details remain tightly under wraps, the project represents a major expansion of the DC AxelVerse, featuring an array of super villains...and more than a few surprise guest appearances!
