Why must we be born again?

The Bible is clear that we must be born again in order to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:3-5). Jesus Himself said that we must be born again of water and the Spirit in order to enter the kingdom of God (John 3:5).

There are many verses in the Bible that speak of the need to be born again, but one of the most clear is John 3:3 which says, 'Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'

We must be born again because our sin has separated us from God and His kingdom (Isaiah 59:2). Our sin has made us slaves to sin (Romans 6:17) and has blinded our eyes to the truth (2 Corinthians 4:4).

But when we are born again, we are given a new heart and a new Spirit (Ezekiel 36:26). We are given the gift of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5) and we are made new creatures in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17).

When we are born again, we are forgiven of our sins (Acts 2:38) and we are given eternal life (John 3:16). We are adopted into God's family (Ephesians 1:5) and we become heirs of His kingdom (James 2:5).

We must be born again because it is the only way to know God and to enter His kingdom. It is the only way to be forgiven of our sins and to have eternal life. It is the only way to be adopted into God's family and to become an heir of His kingdom.
